Once again Costco PRICEMOGGS the competition. I pity the poorfags who are too poor to benefit from the incredible savings of being a member. You gotta spend money to save money.

I could go for a BJ

H-E-B is cheaper than walmart? are they privately owned or something?
>>
>>22043071
does this adjust for the membership cost and the time it takes to walk to through the warehouse and checkout and drive in and out of their retarded huge parking lots?
because i can get a rotisserie chicken at food lion for $7 and sometimes a hotdog for $2 and it doesnt take me 45 god damned minutes and theres no retard at the front door making sure i paid for admission.

market basket being only 1.2% is very surprising given that it's in eastern MA and that place has one of the most expensive COLs in the country

>>22043071
It doesn't take into account you can only get certain items at certain locations. Sav-a-lot is the only place on that menu that you can get pan.

I've shopped at these places and I wasn't impressed. These big box stores are for people who don't really give a shit about quality or options, just the bulk price. I am not poor enough that I need to try to outpace a membership cost by buying a gallon of shitty mass-produced mustard at a time.
If you're buying for large groups of people then it's absolutely justifiable. If I shopped often for church picnics or something then it would be dumb not to do one of these stores. But just shopping for yourself or a small family, you'd all be better served going to a higher-tier grocery store and getting better items there and pay 10% more for higher quality food.

>you'd all be better served going to a higher-tier grocery store and getting better items there and pay 10% more for higher quality food.

Except Costco has (almost always) high quality food. Costco hamburger is fresh and lean, and their hotdogs and brats are great. Veggies are generally good and the frozen / canned food is generally top shelf.
>>
>>22043316
Costco QUALITYMOGGS too. They don't stock low quality crap on their shelves. With Costco, you can be confident you're getting nothing but the best food at the best price.
>>
>>22043343
Costco has pretty decent quality but you can do better by getting from butchers or higher-end grocery stores if your concern is the quality of the food you eat over the value proposition of getting 30 cans of green beans at a time for a discount.

I shop Jewel-Osco and pay much less there than I would at CostMo' because of coupons and sales and shit.
>>
>>22043348
French's Classic Yellow isn't low quality, it's America's #1 mustard. Just because something is popular and affordable, doesn't mean its bad, you fucking snob.

lmao
Like I said, if you enjoy the value proposition of buying 10 gallons of low-quality mustard for a low price point then more power to you. I prefer quality over quantity.
>>
Weird that Save-a-Lot is about as expensive as Publix since it's a no frills store where you bag your own groceries and lots of products are stocked in their shipping boxes.
>>
>>22043348
Exactly what I was talking about. 60oz of 'tard for tards for $5.39. meanwhile, Jewel-Osco had 14oz bottles for a dollar last week.
$5.39 ÷ 60oz ≈ 9¢/oz. $1 ÷ 14oz ≈ 7¢/oz.
So shopping at Jewel-Osco, you can buy a more manageable quantity of mustard /and pay less for it per ounce/ than what CostMo' will sell at you. And you don't have to pay for a membership, either. Fuck CostMo'. It's a shit store for retards.
>>
>>22043378
The sunk-cost fallacy of paying a membership will make people justify anything, to the point of pretending that fucking French's yellow mustard isn't bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.
With both price and quality dis-proven, the only path left is to imply somehow that you are brown because you don't shop at costco. Calling it 100%.
>>
>>22043363
>10 gallons
It's two normal sized bottles.
If you had a point, it wouldn't be necessary to lie.
>>
Whole Foods is that much more expensive? I'll stick to HEB and ALDI. What does Whole Foods even offer that's so much better?
>>
>>22043401
The price premium is so you don't have to encounter poorfags while you shop. It's worth it.
>>
>>22043395
I was exaggerating for a joke, I said 1 gallon in my previous post actually making a point, which costco does actually sell in a similar size.
Which is irrelevant to how, contrary to the previous idiot's post, costco does in fact stock cheap bottom-of-the-barrel dogshit in bulk for people that are extremely value conscious and not so totally destitute that they cannot afford a membership.
Not that it's cheaper than the grocer that the other anon mentioned but again people get attached to their memberships with sunk cost fallacy.
>>
Right. Because that $60 per year is just so unattainable for the "poorfags".

Fucking retard.
>>
>>22043408
America's #1 Mustard isn't "bottom of the barrel dogshit", it's a commodity item. Retards get conned into buying overpriced boutique salt, just because they're suckers doesn't mean there's anything wrong with regular salt.
>>
>>22043391
It's so bizarre that people keep talking about how cheap Costco, Walmart, BJ's and Sam's Club all are while I'm paying pennies on the dollar at Albertsons stores for the same shit. For example, I noticed during dinner that we're low on juice so I checked the app and JO has 64oz of Mott's for $3.15 this week. Out of curiosity, I checked the Walmart website. $3.74 for the same size bottle but they notably also have fewer varieties. I wonder the much it is at BJ's, CostMo' and Sam's Club. In fact, I'm gonna go check

It is bottom of the barrel dogshit. Costco stocks decent mustard too so I don't know why you're getting so assmad about me calling French's out for what it is. By your logic costco is conning people when they offer grey poupon, but I know that badmouthing the store is sacrilege for you so it's okay when Costco does it.

>>22043440
People get attached to an idea and put their fingers in their ears to anything that would disprove it.
>>
>>22043442
That's not even the same style of mustard. It's like saying Heinz Ketchup is dogshit because you prefer mushroom ketchup or some other shit that isn't even supposed to taste the same as classic red.
>>
>>22043442
Well, to be fair, I just checked Costco et al. BJS is 2¢ less per 64oz but you have to buy 2 gallons. Sam's is $2.73 per 64oz, sold as a pack of two 86oz bottles. My nearest Costco doesn't even sell regular Mott's and I'm not going to compare the organic they carry. The do have a 24 pack of 8oz bottles for $15.99 while BJ's has the same 24 pack for $12.49.
Sam's Club wins this round but the nearest location is quite a ways away from me so it's not really worth the trip, I'm afraid. Were we closer, I'd consider a membership.
>>
>>22043456
The style of french's is shitty yellow vinegar paste so yeah any real mustard is going to be a different style because it's worth consumption. You enjoy shit.
>>
costco is a good place and all, but so much of what they sell is prepackaged and premade bullshit that i dont eat. i dont buy their premade frozen stuff, their premade expensive deli stuff, their slop packaged goods like crackers and cookies and bullshit like that. i just want to stick with basic staples, and their meats are generally more expensive than the grocery store when they have deals.

Get over yourself. There's nothing wrong with Classic Yellow, just as there's nothing wrong with ketchup.
>>
>>22043475
It's shit. You can make an actual proper english mustard at home that tastes way better in 10 seconds for 1/5 the price if you're so budget-conscious but you'd rather eat crap and pretend it's a good deal to feel good about your membership.
>>
>>22043071
I like the more expensive stores because unsavory characters tend not to shop there
