They test for Benzene to prove their extraction was clean.

In this case the extraction was solventless and just used ice water and pressure, so there is zero chance of Benzene in the first place, but if you did a hydrocarbon extraction using butane or propane that wasn't very pure, then there is a chance of Benzene contamination, most states require Benzene tests on THC concentrates.


Also technically some of the terpenes in the concentrate when heated to VERY high levels can form Benzene, but most people are dabbing (vaping) concentrates well below those temps.
