Are these little niggas difficult to make at home? I've been craving them but it seems like a pain to cook.
>>22044639It's really easy to make at home. Just make sure you use soaked dried chickpeas instead of canned chickpeas. Also a food processor will help. It's possible with canned chickpeas but the texture won't be right. They're not a pain to cook at all.
>>22044639they are pretty easy. just get the boxed mix. hardest part is making the balls. even if you dont get that right they turn out tasting good
>>22044655>>22044656Sensible tips, thank you.
>>22044639Jew don't know how to make them. Oy vey.
>>22044656They come out pretty well as quenelles - just need two equal-enough spoons and an optional small amount of oil to keep the mashed legumes from sticking to the spoons, and you just kind of scrape them into a soft ovoid triangle.
>>22044659The boxed mixes can be ok but obviously they're going to be much better if you make them yourself. And you don't need to deep fry them. Shallow frying works perfectly well. Oh, and shaping the chickpea mixture isn't difficult at all. Just use your hands like you're rolling little meatballs.
>>22044639I'll green biscuits with yogurt gravy
>>22044672I hate quenellesI hate people who like quenelles
>>22044656i'd just do a cheap ball and smush down a little into a more puck shape
>>22044897What an odd thing to say. Are the things you say usually this odd?
>>22044656I use an ice cream scoop.
I've given up on making these myself, they always come out like shitThere's an Iranian guy selling ten of them for a buck at a local market stall and they taste better than most restaurant ones so I just get those
>>22044901this. especially if shallow frying you should make them discs and not balls.
