The stars/america velveeta.
> Pros
Lotsa cheese compared to the recent packages.
Shape pasta is always good
> Cons
It's velveeta, so you end up with a weird mouth feel
>>

Had some ribs on top, those were great
Fell right off the bone, and used a vinegar heavy sauce
>>
>>22047933
wait what did you try? is this an instant velveeta product?

how does velveeta mackencheese compare to Kraft?
>>
>>22047933
what specific shapes were these
>>

appears to have been this
>>
Whoops I fell asleep

>>22047957
Correct!

>>22047950
The stars and America's

>>22047943
IDK man, they're both just slop
Velveeta is goopier? Kraft is easier to add flavorings to
Velveeta can leave a weird coating on your mouth, like a plasticy something, it's hard to describe
Would not recommend
But if you grew up on it you just WANT it sometimes
>>
>>22047943
velveeta has the consistency of elmers glue

reminder that you can make your own american cheese quite easily

step 1: get some sodium citrate. either buy it online or make it out of a gently heated 2.1:2.5 by weight mixture of lemon juice and baking soda (it should taste pretty neutral, maybe a teeny bit lemony but you won't be able to taste it once you add the cheese)
step 2: add a bit of water or milk. personally I prefer milk but water does work fine. don't add much, you can always add more later.
step 3: add your cheese. you can use any cheese that melts well, gouda, gruyere, cheddar, emmental, colby, etc.
step 4: once melted into a thick, smooth sauce (if it isn't smooth, you need more sodium citrate), add it to a mold and leave it in the fridge overnight.
step 5: enjoy your homemade, tasty American cheese. make yourself a beautiful grilled cheese sandwich or mac and cheese. in fact if you're just making mac and cheese you don't need to cool it overnight, just toss your sauce directly into your macaroni.

Comfy, thank you for your service (review)

Imagine doing all this for american cheese
>>
>>22048545
well storebought american cheese doesn't exactly taste amazing. to me at least it has a distinct 'artificial' flavor. making it yourself significantly improves any dish that primarily relies on the cheese. takes like 20 minutes to make (plus letting it sit in the fridge for a while) so it isn't that much effort.
>>
>>22048551
If you like American cheese, you've bought it from the store, and that's where you got the taste from. If you don't like it, you wouldn't bother making it yourself. Your logic makes no sense.
>>
>>22048572
They’ve changed the formulas though.
Kraft American cheese slices no longer taste good, but Aldi’s brand American cheese still does.
I bet the recipe above tastes better than Kraft too

>>22048580
I can’t swap tongues with you buddy, it’s a taste thing.
Do a taste test of your own
>>
>>22048572
what are you on about? when did I say that I dislike American cheese? it tastes fine and is convenient. doesn't taste as good as a proper high quality cheese though. if you have a bit of time to spare and have access to high quality cheese, you can improve on it no problem.
>>
>>22048580
Imagine implying an old corporation hasn’t changed its formula.
Here you go retard-kun: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-m&q=kraft%20songles%20formula%20change

I have no opinion on which slop cheese is better or worse, i just thought you were being dumb

Yes, the facts of the matter are invalid because i misspelled singles
Congratulations
>>
>>22048613
You provided zero facts. When did they change the formula? At what date? From what to what? You should be able to answer this simple question if it were true

> Total Tastlet Death TBDESU
What is with this board, do you gobble food down without even tasting it?
I don’t care what the package says, if it tastes bad, it tastes bad and I’m not going to keep buying it.
I grew up on kraft, idk what they did and don’t care enough to even read up on it.
>>
>>22048666
i mean yeah. both kraft singles and kraft mac and cheese taste significantly worse than they did ~10 years ago, i have no idea when they 'changed the formula' but it definitely did happen. companies are not obligated to reveal whether or not they changed their formula, which is why there is no real 'source' for it, since no sane person would publicly reveal that they've been decreasing quality for the sake of increasing profits. those anons are clearly just pretending to be retarded (I hope they're pretending, at least) to rile you up. which is pretty retarded.

Velveeta is mealy

>>22048575
Boars head makes a really nice american cheese, but homemade is the best by a long ways. It's nice to add some extra sharp cheddar into the blend because the milk kinda dilutes the cheese flavor. 50/50 milk cheddar cheese and then blending pickled jalapeños in makes a godly nacho cheese.
>>
im here to buy some krump songles chiss, give me krump songles

> picked jalapeño American
Would
This has become an American cheese thread. What other stuff would go well in it?
Like there’s dill havarti out there, what about smoked paprika American? Habanero, red onion, etc
Who knows!
