they had this in local gas stations in michigan when I was a kid. it's not good.
I can't stand Big Red and I like most cream sodas. It just has this offputting flavor that is hard to describe.

>>22051629I know what faygo is, I was poor and it was the cheapest soda available so I've had every flavor of it about 9 gorillion times. They used to sell big red at the gas station in the small town I grew up in. I tried it a few times because I was a curious kid and tried everything and it wasn't good.Ths gas station also made pizza and doughnuts and rented out dvds and vhs tapes. They were locally owned and may have special ordered it but I feel like I also saw it at other places.
>>22051675Those types of independent stores often have very unique supply chains, frequently friend-of-a-friend selling stuff from the back of a van type situations so it wouldn't surprise me if Big Red wasn't officially distributed in Michigan but you still were able to get it at your local family run stores. When I was a kid, the suburbs of Detroit had a small chain of family run stores called Vineyards. After a while, we got to know most of the family members working at our nearby location and they'd order stuff my parents liked.

It's the only soda that had that weird bottle texture. The store was also on a pretty busy highway with a lot of overturn. I have to assume they were ordering it from a supplier. Maybe it is distributed but most stores simply choose not to stock it because of poor sales.I do wish I had that kind of relationship with a small grocer or something.
