Probably the best strawberry variety is in season right now for 2 weeks. The hood strawberry is the juiciest tastiest most strawberry flavored strawberry i have ever had but the things only yield ripe fruit 2 weeks a year and they are notorious for spoiling within 8 hours after being picked. They have an extremely thin flesh and a crazy high sugar content so they will start dissolving themselves within hours. Everyone says you need to just eat them right away but does ck know anything that normies dont? I dont think lemon juice or vinegar washing would be good because they'll mold within an hour of that if they dont liquify from the acid.

These strawberries are the tastiest things ive ever eaten and id like to keep them longer than 8 hours.

Do we really need to explain canning to you?

And yes i know they look like shit but they aren't grown to be physically appealing they're grown to taste like pure strawberry flavor. They're dark red and extremely juicy inside.

I really don't unfortunately, obviously you can freeze them but that misses the point of what you're looking for here. I wish strawberries kept for longer, I'd get them a lot more often if that were the case.

Have you tried it? Have you tried using diluted vinegar with water?

you will never preserve the texture
just make a freezer jam

If you can them you waste them

I havent because i have a feeling any vinegar will hurt them. Theyre too delicate.

You could dry them in a fruit dryer, or you could freeze-dry them, or you could grow them in cycles so you always have more fresh strawberries.
There's no replicating fresh, and so as your tastes demand fresh, so you must seek fresh.

Store them on a plate in the fridge and make sure none of them are touching each other

I am with you OP. I eat like a fatso when strawberry season arrives and have absolute disdain for the out of season strawberries that taste like shit. I've tried freezing the hood strawberries but they usually just turn to mush on defrosting so are no good for any application where presentation matters.

freezer, (!!but that destroys the texture!!) then make strawberry smoothies from them with unsweetened whole milk yogurt
