Am I missing something with my black housemates? They keep leaving greek yoghurt out. Last week they brought shopping home and just left a big pot of yoghurt out on the worktop all day

This evening they came home with some shopping that included more yoghurt. 5 hours later and its still sat in the hallway.

if you want it to last for a week yeah but it'll stay good at room temp for like a day or two because it's acidic and already occupied by bacteria which actively prevent other bacteria from growing. making milk into yogurt is literally a method of preservation.

its a big pot, not something that can be eaten in a day. I guess once its opened is when it needs to be kept cold

Yao Valley is a quality yogurt but I would keep it in the fridge, certainly once opened.
Not sure why you went for the fat free version though?

when it's fresh and the bacteria are still pretty active it could stay on the counter for a while. i was making a lot of yogurt for a while and it stayed fine unrefrigerated for days but still eventually got moldy. i'd be more cautious with storebought yogurt where you're not sure how old it already is.

If he's in the US, 90% or more of the yogurt here is fat-free. If you want full fat, your choices tend to be quite limited.
>>
even if something is slow to visibly consumed by mold and bacteria it is still consumed over time and lower temps keeps the quality up longer

I dont even keep lemon juice at room temp

Lol WTF. Is yogurt just seen as trendy shit for white women over there?

Probably because fat makes you fat.

that's all it ever was.
you got bamboozled into eating dogshit, anon.

if they let it go bad it's because they're racist.
if they eat it then they're just fucking weird and probably wash their chicken.

In the 90s Snackwell's were seen by women as a miracle food because it was a fat-free cookie. After being released, stores couldn't keep them in stock because fat women would buy out entire shipments and then scarf them down. Calories somehow ceased to matter. The cookies were fat-free, which meant you could eat as many of them as you wanted.
