Japan and (historically) western Europe stood pretty much alone in this regard. traditional sushi is good, westernized sushi is better. every other part of japanese cuisine is total shit. japanese curry is a worse version of english stew/pot roast. ramen gets BTFO by literally every other soup in asia as well as europe. katsu is uhhh okay but breaded and fried meat isn't even original enough to be called japanese food.
