How can it be both bitter and flavourless? Especially when it's neither?

Raw carrots are great, one of the only vegetables worth eating
Maybe try buying them from anywhere other than walmart

Very.
Not a common sight in an inner city school.
This is the area directly west of the garden proper, near the entranceway. See the scrubgrass in the back by the wall? Kiddo startled the bunny and he darted straight into it.

raw carrots are good for salad if they're finely grated. thin sliced ribbons are good too.

Heh, sounds like your little man startled the bnuuy something fierce. Nature is cool, hope you get to show him much more of its wonder and beauty.

I don’t even know how you’d find carrots bad enough to be considered ‘bitter.’ You might be mentally defective.

Try some self-grown carrots, just touching the leaf makes you smell like carrots for 2 days

That honor would go to roasted cabbage. I don't eat it any other way unless I'm making sauerkraut.

raw carrots do have a slight bitterness. it's mostly in the skin. the skins of most fruits and vegetables have some bitterness.
