I like to cook my pasta al dente, which means "to the tooth" but I am sure how to do it safely. Normally I cook my pasta and towards the end of cooking I will test its doneness by eating bits of the pasta. However, I realized that this is not very safe as the pasta that is not fully cooked yet could make me ill. Especially since my immune system is messed up. So whats the safest way to insure your passed is cooked correctly? So
Fuck you

>>22065085The CDC recommendations for boiling water are 1 minute at sea level to kill basically all pathogens. Even al dente pasta will be at that temperature for way longer than that.
>>22065085Throw a piece at the wall. If it sticks it's done.
>>22065085Take a small bite and if it feels undercooked then spit it out, then immediately rinse your mouth with a germ-killing mouthwash. It's the only way to be sure.

you can tell how done pasta is by pulling it until it snaps and looking at the center of it. if it makes a loud snap and the center is dark it's not done yet.also you could just set a timer. the box instructions are usually correct unless you're on top of a mountain.
