> Ordered a pizza
> Waited like 3 hours
> called the store, they say they just sent their delivery guy home but will reach out to him
> Store calls to say he’s on the way, pizza is free
> fucking fuming, not going to tip
> doorbell rings, open the door to get pizza
> see long time stoner buddy standing there stoned as fuck
> fury immediately vanishes and just start laughing at him
> ask what the fuck happened
> he thought he delivered all the pizzas and went home to get stoned, had already started playing FIFA
> tip him anyway because he’s an idiot and not a bad guy
That’s the only real delivery issue I’ve ever experienced. Like there’s been a couple of missing items, delays but within 10 minutes, nothing major except my dumb friend through
>>
The person went out and scoured the neighborhood just in case the driver dumped it in the street somewhere?
>>

The delivery people usually send pictures, they were likely sent that picture just throwing it on the street

my worst experience was the only time i used uber eats i got my food delivered by a fat pajeet. my stomach turned and i was so nauseated by his presence that i immediately threw the food away.
pajeets: not even once

I've only ordered pizzas and I've never had an issue.

All this taxicab drive-through shit from apps is fucking retarded and these people deserve any stupid issues they experience.

I'm currently disputing an $84 charge after DoorDash canceled my order and sent me a help link that 404s. I fucking hate food delivery services but my girlfriend wanted to do "something special" but didn't want to go out. I just wanted to cook. 84 fucking dollars for Mexican food for four people and it doesn't even get delivered. What the fuck is wrong with people. What the fuck is wrong with me.

Do you have control of hiring? Because getting competent people under you does help.
Are you part of a pharmacy or part of drug manufacturing? Because if you’re part of a pharmacy chain, i can tell you that most people can manage if they’re pharmacy runs out. I’ve dealt with it many times, with critical medication, and if you’re not a retard you have the time to get your doctors office to send the script somewhere else.
Just try to do a good job but understand the consequences are probably not as deep as they feel. You’re human like the rest of us

It really is bleak, same issue in the States. Like it baffles me how many people can't be bothered to take 10 minutes out of their life to walk/drive to fucking McDonalds or Burger King to order a burger, they literally will pay an extra 5-10 bucks to get it delivered to them so they don't have to go away from a doomstream of whatever reality TV/YouTube slop they're watching.

Covid is over and people ought to just start going out and getting takeaway or going to restaurants themselves again.
Everyone bitching about poor delivery of fast food is just a creature of habit who can't break the habit of going on an app, ordering dinner and having it delivered.
Frankly a lot of people would benefit from having to walk up to a counter and saying their order to a stranger with a nametag or telling their food and drink order to a waitress or bartender.

That's mostly a big city thing where everything is close by and there are lots of rich people who don't mind paying $50 for shitty fast food. The drivers can make good money there because by using ebikes/scooters that let them drive on sidewalks and park anywhere they want. So they can hustle and do hundreds of deliveries a day.
Of course this is just turning the cities even more 3rd world.
>>
>>22067765
Not him, but why would you let some random person who has no relations to the restaurant deliver your food? You're letting some disgusting bum, who done the bare minimum of downloading some app, access to what you're going to eat and god forbid drink. I only use apps like doordash if there's a promo for pickup orders.
>inb4 you trust the workers at the restaurants
That's different. They were interviewed and are expected to uphold some kind of standard with food preparation; especially if you can see the where they're making the food.

I wouldn't even trust my groceries being delivered.

you people are so fucking retarded and so easily manipulated, you really are. you see one post on here (that is probably heavily embellishing or outright lying) of an order getting fucked up and you assume the tens of thousands of deliveries every day made through doordash are getting fucked up in some way. do you not realize it's in the driver's best financial interests to do a good job delivering the food? and that if they get enough complaints that they get banned from the app?
>>

>I only use apps like doordash if there's a promo for pickup orders

I get food delivery quite often when traveling for work because the company pays for it, and I usually just want to hang out in my hotel room after work. The only thing that sucks is that the bean counters get mad if you tip 20% or more, so I always have to figure out what 19.5% is for tip which is hard to do because doordash has so many hidden fees and stuff on top of the food itself, I'm never sure which total to use to calculate the tip. But I feel I should tip well since I have it delivered to a hotel, which requires more time and effort from the driver.
>>
>>22067956

Alright fair enough. But my other points still stand: they have financial incentive not to fuck up delivering the food. Are there going to be bad apples in the bunch? Yes. But DoorDash knows this and has systems in place to remove them. Assuming that most deliveries out there are botched is just retardation

>>22068134
Me. I've had to have had used DoorDash thousands of times in the past ~8 years. The number of times I didn't get my order I can count on one hand. The times my order has been wrong is higher but that's not the driver's fault. Also many popular DoorDash places will put on "security" tape on the orders so you'll know if the driver tampers with it. In addition, have you ever seen any legitimate article about an epidemic of DD orders not arriving on time? No, you haven't. So let's stop believing your headcanon is reality.

I have a few that come to mind.
First, I lived on my own in a shitty ass apartment. Get completely drunk in my room playing video games, order a pizza. It's late at night like midnight. All the lights in my place are out except my bedroom. Time passes, im blacking out. Next thing I know I hear something....someone! in my fucking apartment. WTF?! get scared, i'm not a fighter or a big guy at all. Walk into my living room, front door is open, all i see is the silhouette of this massive dude, realize hes holding a pizza box. I tried to avoid confrontation, just take the pizza and think him. Dude, it was scary as fuck, he looked scary up close as well. I couldnt believe he or anyone would do something like that, just let themselves in.
Another time, I'm ordering from the sam dominoes, pizza fucking REEKS. Order sometime again, go to get my pizza....i shit you not the delivery drivers car is completely full of trash, I'm talking to the tippy top. Pizza stinks....FUCK. I wouldnt normally do something like this but I HAD to call and complain. guy never delivered to me again.
Oh shit....another time I had a guy deliverying to me, I was getting paid pretty good at the time so I would always tip super good, like 20 bucks. Plus i was shit faced and it was super late at night and i lived in the hood. F it whatever. Notice the same guy keeps delivering to me. He seems like a chill guy. Eventually he starts bringing me extra 2 liters, sauces, cheese bread for free, We both know whats up. This happened for a good 3 month run it was awesome. Eventually stop getting guy, know him by name, call store and request him....guy got fried for stealing lol. Feel kinda bad but, eh

Deliveryslave named Tyronarious stopped at a random house to take a pic on some random person's porch, marked it delivered, then kept and ate my food probably because I put $0 tip. As I always do.

But I got him fired and Doordash facilitated a replacement order immediately so whatever. Hope he enjoyed the meal, at that rate he'll be back on probation in no time.

>about to lose my residency status because of being out of the country for too long

>border quarantine gets lifted just in time

>have to order food delivery
>fucking idiots at the guard desk refuse to allow delivery people to come into the building
>have to run downstairs, breaking my "quarantine", just to get food to eat
>if I get caught then the government will fine me $30,000 and maybe throw me in prison for a while too
It was always the same guard being an asshole, too. He laughingly "apologized" to me about it. I kept expecting him to call the cops on me for it but he never did.

Longest fucking two weeks of my life.

Pizza by far. Now they use Uber and they don't deliver it; they just leave it on the sidewalk and drive off--don't even knock.
Call the place to complain:
>not our driver
Complain about messed up order to driver:
>call the place; I don't work for them
Obviously, lesson learned is to not pay in advance, but it didn't used to be this bad for many years. 2025 is when they declared war on the customer, for reasons unknown.

Back when i was a poor and living in an apartment complex, I used to take bagged food left by deliverywagies. The deliverycucks did not like having to go into the building to take the order to the specific unit, so they would just drop it off in the lobby and leave. So I'd wait 15-30 minutes and if the order wasn't picked up then dinner was served.
I knew there must have been a ton of complaints because eventually they stopped leaving the orders in the lobby. But I was doing that for months and saved a small fortune on food.

We just leave them where they were left and they eventually disappear.
The weird things is, we live on a semi-private, pedestrian-only courtyard terrace with only two entrances.
One entrance is a one-way gate for anyone without a key (and leads directly to a supermarket parking lot lmao). From our side, you can leave to get to the supermarket but you need the gate key to get back in. The other entrance is practically invisible to passersby from the main Street and requires walking up a flight of stairs to get to (terraced, remember?) that most people would assume is someone's property and simply wouldn't walk up.
And our house is directly in the middle of the courtyard. So we assumed that whoever orders their deliveries here does so because it's so secluded while simultaneously being in the middle of a huge city to ensure passersby don't steal his food before he gets to it. So he must live nearby.
I really should ask some of the neighbors to see their camera footage.

I made a similar joke but with goblins or gremlins or something.
Worst of all, we've got an elderly lady next door who's lived her whole life here (as had her mother before her) and she occasionally leaves gifts on our steps, too. She once left us a gallon of milk. Another time, lentil wraps she made. Once, a fucking pressure cooker lol
And she never tells us she does this so if we find something weird outside, we have to call/text her to make sure it was meant for us. It's really fucking bizarre.
Even more bizarre, did you know that Google Maps sends guys with gyroscopic camera backpacks down streets and courtyards like mine? Our court is finally mapped and it's because we saw this backpack guy wandering around last spring.

It's been 20 years since I ordered delivery and it was only because I was too young to drive and my parents weren't home. Never ordered an uber neither
The pizza places we'd order from would sometimes refuse to deliver to us because our house was directly on the county/city limit boundary, that was pretty annoying. And our driveway was long so the wagies could never find it and we'd have to walk to the road and wave them down.

>be me
>want Taco Bell but can't leave the house
>order Taco Bell on Doordash
>give big tip because it's muh gerd givun right as a free American to tip
>(also give big tip in case the dasher is cute and is open to additional side money)
>wait
>wait some more
>still waiting

>nearest Taco Bell is one-half mile away
>also the newest Taco Bell in the area
>does dasher dumbass go to that one? no
>goes the the shitty, dumpy old KFC/Taco Bell hybrid that's like three fucking miles away
>shit arrives, it's some stoner looking dude
>my tacos are cold
>my tacos are soggy
>my tacos are overly wet/greasy because this location has never made it right
You have to remember, "dashers" are only doing that job because they're too fucking unemployable for anything else.
Also when I still watched live police ride-along shows with my father, and the number of dasher/uber eats drivers who'd get pulled over, and their cars were utter filth inside with bugs.
Yeah, no. If I can't go get it, I go without anymore.

I did food delivery for awhile as my part time job. I live in a nice suburb close to several nice suburbs, so it was a relatively easy $100-150 in 4 hours on the weekend.
The problem is, DD tries to send drivers outside of their “zone” where there are fewer drivers. If i took an order on the edge of the suburb, sometimes the next order would cross into city limits where the roads and tips were garbage.
I spent one day not being picky and chipped my rim on a pothole, vowed never to cross a particular road out of the nice counties after that.
I gave someone a shitty delivery experience though:
> 11:30pm, exhausted after my 9-5
> i get one more order that hits my $150 goal
> 20 minutes away from the ghetto border of my zone
> take a chik fil a order that was across the street without noticing how far south the delivery address was
> pick up order, start following directions to delivery address
> realize delivery is in the ghetto, a 40 minute drive
> immediately rage, thought i was safe because the drives usually aren’t that far
> pull into a parking, cancel the order and tell DD got into car wreck
> i lose the measley $15
> go home with their order
> it’s a plain grilled chicken breast sandwich
> shit taste moron anyway
> give sandwich to roommate
No regerts, fuck DD for overextending zones like that.

Ordered some burgers and fries for three people from a place about 10 blocks away. I didn't want to go get it because I didn't have a car and I'd been at a convention all day and I was tired. The food took forever to get picked up then had a super long delivery. My other friends who ordered separately, but at the same time got their food from a different restaurant pretty quickly and it was delivered to the hotel door.

When the delivery driver finally texted me it was just a "here" as this was before the "leave at my door" option was common from the covid years. I texted my room number and the driver texted back "I'm in the street". Annoyed I got up to go down to the first floor and get it. I told the driver I was in my way. I get out to the front of the hotel a couple minutes later after waiting for the elevator and the driver is no where to be seen. I text him again and get no response for a few minutes until he tells me he gave my food away to some homeless people because he waited to long for me to come down.

At this point I'm pretty angry. I was hungry and this driver was being an ass. I call him and he answers. I tell him the other driver brought my friend's food to the hotel room door, that I told him I was on my way since he wouldn't come up and he still didn't wait. He told me to fuck off and hung up. I was pissed. I called door dash customer service and was polite with the CS rep, but it was clear I was mad. She refunded my money, submitted the same order on my behalf for free and sent a different driver to pick up the food. That driver showed up in half the time of the first driver and had additional food the group he was about to make a delivery for had just cancelled as he was on his way to them.

Fuck you, Josh. I hope you got fired and had to go back to California.
