Have you ever had a rare fruit or vegetable? How was it?Picrel is Aksu apples from Aksu Prefecture in Xinjiang, China. >Recognized as a China National Geographical Indication Product since 2011.>The defining feature of the Aksu Apple is its sugar heart, a phenomenon where the core becomes translucent and honey-like due to sugar accumulation. >This occurs because the apples are harvested late in the season, strictly after October 25th, allowing them to mature through the first frost. >The region's extreme diurnal temperature variation and irrigation with Tianshan Mountains glacier snowmelt further enhance the fruit's sweetness, crisp texture, and lack of residue. Have you ever had a fruit or vegetable that had a protected geographic indication?
I'm from Naples. So yes.
>>22071551what kind of rare fruit do they have in naples?
>>22071578he's Italian, literally everything they grow has a DOP certification to ensure you're castrated if you say your San Marioculo apples are from San Luigipepe
>>22071601That is a bit of an exaggeration. But only a bit lolDon't we have, like, 200 certifications?>>22071578From my immediate area? San Marzano dell'Agro Sarnese-Nocerino (a tomato), Limoni di Sorrento (a lemon), Carciofi di Paestum (an artichoke), Castagne di Montella (a chestnut). The lemons are lesser celebrated abroad but they have a higher quantity of essential oil in them so they taste especially lemony compared to other lemons. The artichokes are pretty much unknown but they're a purple, tender and completely thornless variety. And I honestly don't know any other variety of chestnut. There are others but I don't know how they're any different. Oh, and Cipollotto Nocerino. They're extremely sweet. There's probably other stuff but nothing's coming to mind.
>>22071631>Cipollotto Nocerino. They're extremely sweetlmaoI should have specified: cipollotti are young onions. They're like the green/spring onions Asians put on everything, but larger and with a round bulb
>>22071636>sweet round green onionsyes i will have that please
>>22071551Irrelevant eu country. kek.
>>22071687Naples hasn't been it's own country since 1799, 1815 or 1860, depending who you ask. Naples ≠ Italy. And if Italy is so irrelevant, you really ought to not use Google. Italy invented hypersearch, you know.
>>22071549Should have gone with a cross section. What's its texture like, is it crunchy?
Not yetIn 3-5 years I’ll have my very own paw paw fruit to try though
>>22071711i didnt buy it because I'm poor and my brain doesnt work right.here is a picture of a truck full of apples in Aksu Prefecture which may or may not be Aksu Apples
>>22071715here is an alleged photograph of the alleged "crystal sugar core"
>>22071714interesting. i have never heard of this fruit
>>22071549I found a place to buy eggfruits in the EU and they were good but felt like a rock in my stomach
