Poorfag bargain celebration thread! No sneering NEETs or smug middle classers allowed ITT.Today mine is that I found these pot pies marked down from $9 to $5 at Walmart so I bought all eight. $40 instead of $72.I work part time there and this is about the most expensive thing I regularly buy anyways, usually just one or two at a time if I can afford them, comes out to around $5/lb because they're nearly 2 lbs.The chicken one is the same price but actually lower protein because the filling includes some southern style white gravy so there's less meat overall. The "garden vegetable" one actually costs $1 more even though I'm sure it must be the cheapest to produce, vegetarian tax I guess. This last two months I haven't been buying much food because I was behind on bills and working a few extra shifts to catch up. As of yesterday's payday I caught up and paid everything off with a few hundred to spare, so I was going to just stock up on some cheap stuff like yogurt and tortillas and maybe get one of these, but I got assigned to frozen (I stock overnight) and while zoning it in the morning I keenly noticed the discounted price.I wonder if I was one of the only ones buying them, usually they don't get big sales like that unless they're nearing expiration or being dropped, and it was just this pie discounted, not the other two. I really hope they don't get rid of them, it's basically the only beef I eat anymore.I also got called to zone something else before I finished zoning frozen, so it was double lucky I came across them before that happened.Anyways I'm thrilled, these and some canned vegetables and tuna sandwiches will last me a few weeks.I've been eating an old bargain I found, one of those huge cheap cans of sausage gravy marked down a few dollars for a blunt dent, on wheat toast for breakfast the past few weeks too. What are some bargains you've found recently, anything good to celebrate? And how is your skinflinting going lately?

That doesn't seem s good deal to me but if it makes you happy, I'm genuinely glad for you. I do love me some pot pies. Just about the only frozen food I eat with any regularity. I might pick one up. We're going out on our Saturday shop in s minute
>>22073979I do wish we had English style meat pies, but I like pot pies still.>>22073980It's a big one, like 7 inches I'd guess, 2100 calories, premade for $2.50/lb. Very cheap for frozen food.
>>22073986I think it's the same quantity as Mrs Budd's is now. $5 is about average for sale price but if it's as good as you say, then it's absolutely worth it. I'm running off the assumption that Walmart make very little that's any good. I've been surprised, sure (those discontinued banana split ice cream sandwiches, for example), but not often. We didn't go to Wally World. Wife and I are both Asian (she's visibly; I'm only a quarter) and we needed greens so Asiamart for us. Also Safeway for Sample Saturday. We got two "prebiotic" Pepsis, six jars of Skippy, 4 packages of VioLife vegan "cheese" and two cartons of VioLife coffee creamer. Total: $17.88
Got a couple 48 packs of Ferrero Roche for $5 last week (close to expiration), was pretty happy about that>>22073920How are the chicken and beef ones in terms of taste? I love pot pies but rarely make them>>22074113Ah that’s a really good discount on the Safeway run
>>22074811That's super good price for Ferrero Rocher, congratsI haven't tried the chicken yet since chicken is cheap in general and I eat more of it than beef otherwise, and since it's the lower protein one.The beef one is a bit too buttery/greasy, mostly from the top crust of the pie being too thick, it's not bad but a little less of the pie should be crust and a little more should be filling. If you were to pig out it might get you feeling a little sick.Other than that, the crust tastes okay, just pretty normal cheap pie crust. I like the filling, might be too salty for some people, could use more beef but it's still pretty good.>>22074113>avoids Walmart store brandsI dunno anon....I'm not saying it's middle class, but it's not really lower class behavior either...
>>22074811>that’s a really good discount on the Safeway runYeah, it was the perfect convergence of timing + sale + coupons. We only went in for the free sample since it's just a few yards down from the Asian supermarket but we grabbed the other stuff because I opened the app and saw the deals. The Pepsis were free because sample. They were both awful. I got regular, she cherry vanilla. The VioLife stuff, well… the entire line was on sale for $2.99 and each of our accounts had three coupons, one for creamer and two for cheese. One of the two cheese ones was $1.99 flat price store coupon. The other was $1 off. And the creamer one was also a dollar off. So (($2.99 per item × 3 items) - $3 in coupons) × 2 accounts = $11.94.And the Skippys are in sale, limit 3 jars per day per account, for 99¢ each. That's (99¢ × 6) + $11.94 = $17.88We got four smooth, one super crunchy and one protein. Gonna make so much stuff with this PB>>22075145We don't avoid them at all! See, we don't actually eat much packaged food and Walmart prices on fresh stuff is pretty terrible compared to what we pay elsewhere, and that's assuming they even carry what we want. Example: pork belly is $7/lb there and $3/lb where we buy it. We get garlic there (huge sack of them for $4) and carrots ($3.49/5lbs) then wander about picking up dumb shit. Store brand apple jelly tastes like wishes and dreams (IE like nothing but sweet) but it's really good as a glaze. Their off brand peanut powder was pretty good for making peanut butter frosting and pudding but they discontinued it so we get PB2 now. The ice cream sandwiches I mentioned were tops but I guess no one else agreed. There prepared foods have been universally shit. That's the extent of our experience with Walmart brands. They don't even exist in my wife's homecountry and while I grew up partly in America, my family weren't Walmart shoppers when I was growing up so I don't have any other experience with it
>>22073920Bettergoods eh?I've been getting these lately. They are extremely good.
>>22075627They look good. Thanks anon, I'll try them.
