Starts with buying reasonable portions at the grocery store. The reason Americans are obese and Japanese are thin is because Big Food coaxes people into buying obscene "Family Size" quantities of everything by letting them save a few cents. This causes over eating.

Japanese don't over eat because stores will only sell them reasonable quantities of food at a time.

If you buy in bulk, you're going to eat in bulk, if only to not waste the food before it goes bad. No one needs an entire watermelon for personal consumption.

Until the government steps up and does its job, remember: weight loss starts at the grocery store.

Typical, trying to defend your obscene over consumption under the guise of concern for the environment. Pure hypocrisy. I bet you people don't even return the rinds for the environmental deposit so they can be reused.
>>
>>22074301
As if over eating wasn't bad enough, now you're not even gorging yourself on fresh food, but instead old, frost encrusted, freezer burned food that you stuff your face with to make room in the freezer for the next sale of bulk slop.
>>
>>22074293
See, I've got a mini fridge because I don't need a full size one for just myself. It would be silly to get a large one just to hold more watermelon.

Watermelon rinds are biodegradable so composting them is not wasteful from an environmental perspective. They nourish the soil. Sending the rinds back to be eaten by someone else is fucking disgusting but this bait is so obvious I can't even be assed to properly insult you. Do better.
>>
>>22074283
It wouldn't matter if people were buying healthy food in bulk. Americans eat a lot more ultraprocessed junk food than the Japanese.

Obesity is also complicated and there are still various causes that we don't fully understand which lead to weight gain. Yes, it's "you consume more calories than you burn" but why that happens is not simple with one solution for everyone.

You got tunnel vision on the watermelon. It's not about watermelon. This watermelon example is a microcosm for the general problem of bulk purchasing food and overeating. But you knew that and are just pretending to be obtuse to obfuscate the problem. Food addicts, like all addicts have no qualm about being dishonest and using scummy tactics like gaslighting to defend their shameful habits. Do better, anon.

>Yeah, it's all because lardos don't buy small slices of watermelon. That watermelon they eat is so fattening. They should buy individual slices like is trendy in bugland.

Absolutely retarded thread. I am buying 50lb bags of flour and gallon cans of pizza sauce because I am constantly mentally debating if we've reached the point of resulting to cannibalism for basic survival. $1 for 30 calories of watermelon? I would fucking stab you.

doesn't exist.
the problem of overeating is based on the person, not the amount purchased.
if i buy a 10 pound pork roast i don't eat the whole 10 pounds in one sitting.
that would be Goddamned fucking stupid and ridiculous.

>>
>>22074933
You say that like the people buying half-eaten watermelon rinds at the 7-11 across the street to their apartment are the ones controlling any amount of the money in your by-scale graph. Plenty of crowded food banks in the US even though their spot on that chart is mighty big as well.
>>
>>22074933
I think he meant the Americans, friend.
>>
>>22074527
>overeating is based on the person, not the amount purchased
The amount eaten can never exceed the amount purchased. On a Venn diagram, the circle of people who eat too much is entirely within the circle of people who buy too much.

If you don't have the willpower to stop eating what's in front of you, have the humility to admit you have a problem and heed my advice. Get ahead of your gluttony and cut it off at the check out isle. Say no to bulk buys. You ain't feeding a family or being frugal, you're just making excuses to over eat.
>>
>>22074935
>Plenty of crowded food banks in the US even though their spot on that chart is mighty big as well.
You can't compare American poor with rest of the world poor. If you ever seen the girth of US foodbank contestants, you'd know they're not there because of starvation. It's for the love of the game. It's free food, that's money in the bank.

My point was that a country can have a very high economic output and influence while still having poor citizens by comparison. Replace food bank with whatever other indicator of the destitute that you prefer there.

I don't eat for days at a time and then I'll go one day where I drink a protein shake and make a sandwich and I'm still 300lbs.
All I do is sleep and read though, so I don't agree with these food statements. I think an active lifestyle is more important.
>>
>>22075301
Overweight people consistently underestimate how many calories they consume. Being active helps but it's a lot less work to just eat less. You can't be doing that very often to be 300 lbs. You must be doing some serious bingeing otherwise.

Something interesting is that poor digestion of starch leads to overeating and weight gain though so it's not always a personal failing like some people want to claim.

well there's this little thing called a "fridge". and no, I'm not talking about your mother. it lets you keep food good for days, weeks, sometimes even months at a time. or years, if you have a freezer.

just have some fucking self control like a normal person. jesus.
>>
>>22075809
How long were you planning on saving that watermelon slice? Your fat brain is stuck in the bulk purchase mindset, where things you purchase won't get eaten for ages. Learn to eat fresh.
>>
>>22077117
How long ago was it sliced? What temp was it held at after slicing? Don't know? Again, I'll buy the whole thing and portion it out myself. By the way, how many calories would that slice be, since you're so worried about overeating?
