>researchers from the University of New South Wales in Sydney shared their new method for brewing espresso-strength coffee at room temperature, with absolutely no hot water required. Instead, they've swapped out hot water for high-frequency sound waves that they say can do the work of heat and pressure, all in roughly the same amount of time it takes to brew a conventional shot.
> As the team explained in the paper, the process works by attaching a small metal device called a transducer to the side of a standard espresso basket. The transducer vibrates rapidly, sending sound waves through the water and coffee grounds and triggering a phenomenon called "acoustic cavitation."
From the country that gave the world AC/DC it's a logical invention

Espresso is espresso because of the pressure. If this thing isn't producing any pressure then it's not making an espresso.

I did this a long time ago. Yes, it makes really good coffee. The ultrasonic vibration actually emulsifies the fats released from the coffee and makes a latte like texture with no added milk.

The retards at uni actually took that long to think of this? KEK
