I think they don't taste great unless they're fully cooked and soft. Then just a little lemon or vinegar and they taste pretty good. If they're only "tender crisp" they taste kind of flat and bitter but when fully cooked they get sweet.

Make sure to have these with a meal. I used to have these for breakfast and it looked the same coming out. I used to dig around the pantry for expired food and mix it in and once I mixed in rancid nuts and had to bury the whole batch in the giant pile of dirt in our backyard
