potluck at work and someone said this was a common sauce but it sounds revolting. are you familiar with it?
I've never heard of it but that seems pretty odd and might either be tasty or not tasty. Just to be safe, I'm betting on the latter. I expect an update soon.
>>22078435family does that in the south with a stew.. where are you? the jelly add sweetness the grape flavor kind of mellows out when slow cooked..
Sounds very American
>>22078435yeah this is common. “BBQ little smokies” it’s usually made with whole miniature sausages instead of a normal sized sliced up one like that
>>22078435My aunt who doesn't "cook" but "combines ingredients" for holidays does that exact thing. It's okay, I doctor it up with a little extract sauce because i like sweet and spicy
>>22078435>are you familiar with it?yes and it is revolting.
>>22078435You must work with brown people>>22078446Like this idiot>>22078448And this one. It's a poor people thing. They just add dumb shit because its all they have
>>22078446>>22078448this thread has been fully answered and the product in question demystified. seething europoors need not post anymore itt.
it's very good how about try it instead of being a retarded subcook tourist
>>22078494its actually a white thing.. you should go outside more. must suck to be lonely and overweight.
>>22078632lonely is a given, but overweight? come on, you dont know that for sure..
>>22078642I’d bet all my limbs on it
>>22078435Its good on meatballs too its like a weird bbq sauce.
>>22078435>potluck at work This sounds awful. Sometimes I am very grateful that I work a blue collar job with very few women on site. There was a time when one of the guys brought in some jerky that he made from a goose he shot.
>>22078435This just sounds like Americans pretending to cook (nothing unusual there)
>>22078435My dad's girlfriend makes it, pretty good.Little too sweet for my tastes, but it's only like 4 times a year so I'll eat some.
>>22078494>>22078632Yeah if it were a 'brown people' thing it'd be chicken bits in watermelon sauce.

It's a really common dish for potlucks.Read the back of some chili sauce bottles some time. They'll usually advertise it specifically as being a recipe for either vienna sausages or meatballs. This one says canned cranberry sauce instead, but you get the idea
I've tried this, only I used plum jam because I couldn't get grape. It was alright, but just remember the sweet barbecuey sauce won't cover up poor quality meatballs or weenies or sausages, so make sure your meats are good first and you'll be fine
>>22079092There's this thing I'm sure people know of, but less can be better. I'd rather just the meat, it doesn't need something. That something could later be used for something else, and i didn't waste a jar of jam, jelly, or preserves to flavor meatballs i'd eat plain from a toothpick
>>22079098it's good for a group event. people love grazing on meatballs and they love sweet jamby sauces. my pic, as the OP pic, is using way too much sauce. I should have used about 1/3rd as much BBQ and jam.actually what I should have done was poached the meatballs to get the fat and grease out and then just bain-marie them in the sauce
I woke up hungover one day and my grandma had made a huge plate of these. I just grabbed a fork and got busy. But I couldn’t stop, the 200 weenies was down to 50 and her joking around turned into screaming, tears, begging and pleading. But I refused, I only stopped because she started hitting me so hard with a wooden spoon that I dropped the remaining 15 weenies on the floor. The dog got them when all the chaos stopped.
>>22079153And this is how anon ruined Ash Wednesday for the whole family
>>22078447Yeah dude it's not like swedes put jelly on their meatballs you fuckin idiot
>>22078690It's a simple dish that people like at parties. It's definitely cooklet tier, only requires 3 preprocessed ingredients and a crockpot. But it's festive and does the job
