Texas Pete is genuinely a better hotsouce than Tabasco.
I don't get it why so many fall for the tabasco-fakery.
Texas Pete: Tasty chili taste with a rounded taste.
Tabasco: vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar vinegar

Texas Pete tastes more of vinegar than Tabasco does, wtf are you talking about? I enjoy Texas Pete more but it is definitely more vinegar-heavy than tabasco. It's a good all-rounder hot sauce, while Tabasco is only really good for potatoes/eggs/chili. Valentina's has more flavor and is my #1 hot sauce for when I'm looking for more than just heat. If I want more heat but still with some flavor then I do El Yucateco habanero.
>>
Regular Tabasco is pretty lackluster but I like the chipotle and habanero varieties.

For a mass market, general use hotsauce, I prefer Tapatio.

The official hot sauce of the US ARMY! HOOOAH!

Used to always collect the little bottles from MREs in case I needed them later
(I did)

Texas Pete is better - should’ve called it Carolina Pete but then I guess they couldn’t use the cowboy logo

your mom is a better hot sauce than Tabasco

I use tabasco as an ingredient and not really as a hot sauce condiment. To me it's pepper vinegar and I use it like vinegar.
>>
>>22084685
Its flavor is too strong and distinct for it to be used like vinegar unless you want your meal to taste like it has tabasco sauce in it, specifically.
>>
>>22084687
That's not entirely true. If you use a few spoonfuls to alter the pH of a pot of curry or chili its flavor doesn't come through. If you used a half cup then maybe it would but so would the taste of vinegar or lemon juice.

NTA and valentina is a close second for me but this is my go to. solid pepper flavor, no viniggery taste, bit spicy but not so hot it's unbearable
>>
>>22084689
With chili specifically I'll 100% agree with you but I think tabasco's one true home is in a good strong meaty chili.
>>
>>22084695
Haven't tried that one, I'll give it a shot when I see it, thank you anon

What do you guys think about my collection?

That's a fairly small amount of hot sauce for your average-sized staircase, I'd say?
>>
>>22084027
Tastes like watered down vinegar IMO. Hotter is actually hot, but still flavorless. Garlic actually has some flavor though, so that's a winner. Overall Pete is just barely hanging onto mid for me.
>>22084145
Seen it everywhere in Virginia, Oklahoma, and Texas. Not really in the PNW where it's usually Tobassco.

I like Texas Pete, Tabasco and El Yucateco but I find myself reaching for cholula when I cook eggs.

>excuse, my dear waitress, but might I perchance take a gander at your hot sauce menu?
>...yes, "hot sauce menu." That is what I inquired about.
>You... don't... have one? Well, while that is truly disappointing for an establishment as esteemed as this, thankfully I always carry a choice selection of my rather vast collection with me at all times.
>*loud SCRRRTCCHHing of velcro as a fanny pack is opened*
>Hmmm yes, let's see... Perhaps some "Napalm Diarrhea" for this meal? No, I think the garlicy twinge of "Captain McGoober's Ass-Ripping Lava Farter Sauce" would pair quite well with my entree. Or is it finally the day that "5 Alarm Anus Melting Hot Sauce" will make it's debut...?
>Ah, the dilemmas of a connoisseur! Be that as it may; what are your IPA offerings, my sweet?

No im serious it ruins the whole damn sauce , the original is the best and if you get the garlic flavors one it's ruined so don't get it unless you are some wierdos which obviously you are
