What are some products, grocery or chain restaurant, that had their formula, size or general composition changed and were permanently ruined for you?

I loved these things so much I'd buy out the store's stock, then they sold to a new company and changed them from flavor-loaded light and crispy snacks with excellent texture to thick, cardboard flavored garbage. I haven't seen them around in grocery stores ever since
>>
I miss Tim's Cascade chips. I used to live in Oregon and the food was pretty good in general but those were what I miss most. Especially I think they had some Hawaiian flavor potato chips that were really good.

I also remember these gummy shark fruit snacks with this amazing chewy texture but I don't think they exist anymore.

kraft mac and cheese
every single kind of commonly sold sour candy (though this may be because i have simply grown more resilient to sour candy)
>>
>>22084224
Didn't that brand have potato chips that were sold at Trader Joe's?
>>
>>22084242
Maybe. Trader Joes white labels a bunch of shit. The onions rings were the goated version not the chips. Chips are so hard they make my teeth hurt, the onion rings had this excellent air puffed texture and crunched beautifully and had far more flavoring in the bag

All the former Nestle chocolate bars in the US, just aren’t as good anymore
>>
>>22084224
local generic canned tuna. they switched to soya bean oil instead sunflower or "vegetable oil".
>>
>>22084230
Yes, I remember being like 14 in the mid 2000s, like 2006. You could buy Tim's Cascade jalapeno chips at Dollar Tree and it was a fucking steal. So delicious and flavorful
>>
They changed cheese pizza rolls and it pisses me off.

they just HAD to go "reduced sugar" meaning i cant have it anymore because artificial sweeteners give me explosive diarrhoea
>>
>>22085052
Are you sure it's all? Aspartame commonly does that but I have no problems with Sucralose
>>
>>22084224
Red Bull sugar-free changed their sweetener from aspartame to super-loose, and I can only tolerate aspartame. Such a shame. Haven't had one since
>>
Mr Kipling cakes, fuck them forever.
>we had to shrink everything because, um, BREXIT or something
>>
The candy coating on these used to be smooth, shiny, and had a slight crunch when you bit into it. They changed the formulation and now it's sticky and crumbly with a texture similar to fondant.

Open Pit barbecue sauce.

When I was a kid, this stuff had real kick to it and was a nice change from the sugary KC-style sauces my folks usually got.

Now all the heat is gone and it just tastes like sugar syrup.

they sell at world market still.. i agree they arent as good and last i was there they repeatedly have shown up in the discount for expiry
>>

>>22085052
Diarrhoea or not, wouldn't the sweeteners make it taste like shit now regardless?

This stuff used to be sharp and tangy, but somewhere along the line they changed it into overly-sweet sludge. They stopped making it a while ago
>>
>>22085151
yes, and it was completely pointless too
they already offered a zero sugar diet variant
>>
>>22085102
i have irritable bowel syndrome, even fructose gives me the shits
>>
>>22085110
Aw man when did they make that change? Haven't had those in years but shit was goated

Somewhere along the line, Hy-Vee stopped using their usual pork sausage. Their pizza hasn't been the same since.

When they changed the packaging I already knew something was up but I bought it anyway to try and it was VILE. I was so upset I actually sent them an e-mail about it but all I got was a boilerplate.

there new prices make them almost unusable definitely don't go as much as used to, same for taco bell

On the topic of chips, all Wise chips have gone to hell since the most recent packaging "refresh". But none worse than Ridgies, which lost their charming late 90s aesthetic (only the Wise mark had been updated until now), pic related.
Current Wise products are so insanely salty it's unreal, Ridgies are like eating pure shards of rock salt. It's disgusting, and incredibly disappointing for a nostalgic snack many people grew up with.

I dunno if I'd go as far as "ruined", but when they changed the recipe to make them more crunchy than light and crispy it definitely feels way different eating them. Dunno if they still sell the old recipe under a different product name.

The devils food snackwells things, they were fuckin great and then they reformulated them maybe around 2020 and they were dogshit, then they killed the product entirely. Had em first in perhaps 2005.
>>
>>22084224
All these changes are due to the "changing consumer habits"... Bean dip'ers and nigerians and poojeets have a different pallet in other words
>>
>>22084224
They killed the most kino hotpocket known to man shortly after introducing it, not sure if that counts but left me very upset.
>>
>>22087800
THIS. Somehow, whatever concoction that they used in the fat-free ones made them taste really good and the texture was great.

Jeno's Pizza Rolls were downright amazing. Then they went under and were bought out by Totino's, who made ok frozen take & bakes. Then Totino's changed the recipe and they tasted like ass since. I'm guessing they probably changed from real fats/oils to soy, which was all the rage in the 90s and ruined quite a few good snack foods. Fuck the US farmer lobby.

Well this tracks because I remember Herr's partnering with Heinz for ketchup chips and at some point the partnership ended and then the ketchup chips didn't taste as good.
