were the people writing wikipedia articles in 2004 just completely retarded? in which world could someone think that to be true?
I'm just gonna say it.Cardamom sucks. It makes anything taste like menthol cigarettes.
>>22084537Your tongue is broken. >>22084526Well, what other spices are more expensive than cardamom? Cuz it's definitely the third most expensive as far as I can tell.
>>22084526it is true in our world
>>22084541>Well, what other spices are more expensive than cardamom?we all know saffron is #1
>>22084541nutmeg/mace, tarragon, various mushroom powders
>>22084526It's #4 now. Asafoetida prices have skyrocketed since 2004.>>22084541Saffron, asafoetida, and vanilla.
chinese businessmen pay hundreds of dollars for rare ginseng roots because they think it makes their tiny pp's bigger, but I don't know if that counts as a spice or not.
>>22084553>Asafoetida prices have skyrocketed since 2004.Max Miller needs to be stopped
>>22084549You are not very smart. >>22084552>nutmeg$37.50/lb, retail, for whole, wild harvested>mace $34/lb, for whole blades, wild harvested >tarragonIs an herb and is ridiculously cheap, $15/lb fresh retail, $40/lb dry retail>mushroom powdersChaga is $31/lb, lion's mane and turkey tail are $38.50, reishi is $33.50, all wild harvested>>22084553>asafoetidaYup! Just barely, though. $61/lb compared to cardamom pods being $60/lb. Good catch!
>>22084526indian spices forded 1 mirron times.
>>22084526Cardmom chai tea is absolutely great and i love itYou guys should try it
>>22084553>AsafoetidaDoes anyone except the Indians actually use this? Isn't it very pungent? "Devil's dung"
>>22084627It's allegedly in the secret recipe for pic related. But yeah it's mostly used by Indians.
>>22084627I use it and I'm white. It's very pungent and can stink up a whole pantry so I keep it separate to other foods. The pungency disappears when you cook with it and it develops a nice onion and garlic kind of flavour. It is very helpful with digestion of beans and lentils, which I do eat a lot of. If you get gassy after eating these things maybe give it a shot
>>22084627It's a standard ingredient in vadouvan and perfumes.
>>22084637>UK BBQ saucei like it but i don't get they needed a smelly indian spice. the bros were trying to copy the flavour of soya sauce with "local" ingredients in england when they invented this shit.
>>22084715>>22084618 go be retarded elsewhere
>>22084715>the bros were trying to copy the flavour of soya sauce with "local" ingredients in englandThey weren't trying to copy soy sauce. It doesn't taste like that and if they wanted a basic soy sauce they could've used fish or mushrooms which they had already been doing. Supposedly it was a fish and tamarind sauce from south Asia they were trying to recreate.
>>22084715>BBQ sauceits not.>>22084917its garum with onions and spices
>>22084961It’s nothing like garum, dipshit.
>>22084579autism
>>22084992>knowing things is autistic! Guess you're safe from that particular diagnosis, schlitzie
>>22084978its exactly like garum, with onions and spices
>>22084715>>22085070Have you even tried worcestershire sauce at least once in your life?
>>22085120I just use it to add fermenty pungent flavor to umami rich dishes
>>22084579>You are not very smart.not him but yes i am
>>22084526its cardaMAM
>>22085120that's what the history of the sauce bros told me. i ate 3 worcestershire sauces. including UK LnP's
>>22084917according to le history of LnP, apparently they didn't even have fish sauce to start with. they fermented some fish and started adding spices to it. weird since vikings supposedly used fish sauce(similar to the super salty asian fish sauce) for ages even before they took over York.
>>22084579he's actually very smart>Market rates for premium Iranian saffron often fall between USD 600 and 1,000 per pound
>>22087680You're even dumber. Reread the OP pic, you fucking mongoloid.
