Nothing. If the apocalypse happens and I survive, I will get the cannibal and good eatin' perks.

I was the date checker at a grocery store. The longest shelf lifes I saw were for canned roast beef, corned beef, tuna, salmon, herring, sardines, and....sour candies. Some would last until 2031 "best by"

The air in that bunker will become unbreathable within six hours of your first meal

Yep, bakes beans, sardines, red lentils, rice, UHT milk, and vitamin C tablets. This is currently stocked to the brim in my cupboard expecting extreme price hikes on food staples so it's not intended to keep me surviving for the apocolypse but ease food shortages or prices. Sardines were my main idea for vitamin b12 since you can't get it from non-meat products and I love it but I got sick of it adter eating it a third time a month. Might stock up on tuna instead since it's worse in taste however I'm much less to get sick of it's taste long term over the overly fishy taste of sardines.

To what end? You're going to go insane from boredom or get out of shape not having much movement available. Best case scenario is what? You wait 20 years in there for someone to bring some level of civilization back for you? You wait until a raider gang finds your bunker and kills you? Or neither happens and you now are the fish out of water in the post apocalypse where everyone has aclimated to the new life except you. Threads and The Day After said it best. If shit hits the fan THAT hard you're lucky if you just died in the main event, everything that comes after is just a slow painful death.

Not OP and shifting the goal post here but planning for price hikes on food due to fertlizer shortages (due to the iran war) makes it wise to invest in long lasting food sources. Sure planning for the apocolypse is unreasonable but a stock of food for price hikes or shortages is reasonable.

>Best case scenario is what? You wait 20 years in there
lol not even. most people's "apocalypse stashes" would last a couple of weeks, at most. a more serious one might last you a couple months.
it's a good idea to have a few days to a week's worth of food stashed in case of a local emergency, like a bad weather situation or blackout or something, but most prepping is complete fantasy.
>>
>>22086585
i think you are taking Oh Pee to literally. Nobody actually has a literal bunker.
We are just talking about building up food reserves in case things get all fucky.
>>
>>22087143
a couple points.
First, a few weeks-months might be all you need before some kind of supply is reinstated.
Second you are assuming a complete supply chain breakdown. Your food reserves may end up being more supplemental which would stretch your supply
Worst case scenario aside from being totally fucked you have a few weeks to figure out your next move

Plus there is no real downside. Every investment is edible. Expiration date comes, eat the food and replace it

That seems like a lot. 400 lbs of grain for one year is 15lb per week. Noone can eat that much.

Ammunition and nothing else.

~One pound of rice a day seems fully appropriate.

>>
>>22087282
sure. I'm not saying it's totally useless. like I said, I think it's smart to have at least a few days if not a week's worth of food. having more doesn't hurt. it's just a lot of people talk about their stashes like they're getting ready to ride out the nuclear apocalypse or total societal breakdown, which is just ridiculous.
