I LOVE truffles but what is the point of "truffle flecked" anything? They're just particules of truffles in things like cheese or oil and the cost increase is worthless because you can't taste it. Just buy fucking truffles. It's like with sturgeon caviar, if you want to to taste it then spend $100 or more to get the product itself. Imagine getting cheese for sixty bucks because it has dozens of caviar eggs scattered in it
>>
Dunno about cheese but the oil isn't too expensive and just a drop can add intense truffle flavor

So you like eating whole truffles? Do you fry them and dip them in ranch?
>>

I slice them and put them in pasta or on cheese with crackers

Truffle oil makes as much sense as mushroom oil. Truffles have a stronger taste than mushrooms but definately not enough to be an additive in oil

most truffle oil isn't actually made with truffle. it's usually made with synthesized truffle flavoring. which is evidently quite a bit worse flavor-wise.

as for truffle in cheese, it can be tasty. just depends on the cheese you're getting. i remember getting some truffle infused manchego cheese in Spain and it was nice, you could absolutely taste the truffle since the cheese itself had a relatively neutral taste.

also, something tells me you have a problem with your sense of taste. truffle has a strong flavor. you don't need whole slices of it to taste it.

you're buying shitty oil. truffle oil can definitely taste like truffle

The purpose is to inflate the price. They factor in the cost of the truffle even if it's barely noticeable flavor-wise. Like with truffle fries and truffle oil.

It definately has a strong flavor but not strong enough to use truffle flecks as a spice

>>22086957
It would (and should) inflate the price because truffle is fucking expensive. But it seems more to me like a way to get woman-brained consumers to buy something because it is "luxurious" or "indulgent". Let's be real, if truffles could actually be distilled into a flavor, ideally it would go best on popcorn not all the other shit they claim it for but popcorn is not le classy

Absolutely spectacular. The truffle flavor just infuses the whole damn thing.

How often do you eat truffle? To me it has a very strong flavor but I eat it so rarely it’d always have that first taste power when I do
