I once made a french onion soup, I think I just put too many onions in it but it gave me and my girlfriend strong stomach cramps and diarrhea

Onions have sugars that can be hard to digest and can cause that problem.

I made scrambled eggs with a whole onion I caramelized first and it tasted great but gave me terrible gas. If I eat a lot of onion rings the same thing happens.
