I can totally see why so many people order doordash or ubereats or whatever.

Preparing the marinade and marinating the meat and washing all utensils took me 40 minutes. Then I had to clean the area around the sink and the sink itself. Holy. So much work.

This doesn’t even include roasting and washing up again tomorrow 24 hours later.
>>
>>22088050
to be honest that shouldn't have taken you 40 minutes

Here is the marinaded pork. Going in fridge for 24 hours. If I decide to flip meat in 12 hours, I will have to wash more utensils and clean spills.

You can legit go on your phone and order this and have it delivered to your door in 20 minutes.

So, as of right now, pretty much as hour as has passed since I started. I am now finished and watching the game soon.

Things don’t go smoothly in the kitchen.
>>
>>22088050
I don't make pizza or chinese food at home.
>>
>>22088056
>>22088055
If you got tons of $, you can order this and get it delivered in under 30 minutes.

or barbecue but I don't really care about that

“Chinese food.”
This is literally just roast pork.
>>
>>22088060
I prefer to buy frozen from supermarkets.

fourty Fuckin' minutes?
>>
>>22088050
I listen to YouTube cooking videos while I'm doing stuff in the kitchen. I don't even notice how much time it takes, I'm in my own little world. It's my happy place. I can spend hours there. Try it!
>>
>>22088070
How else can you prepare a pork shoulder butt? I only know this Chinese bbq way and most recipes recommend pulled pork or taco meat. I prefer my meat in chunks.
>>
It's a shame you wasted all that time preparing a home cooked meal when you could have been viewing pornography or a Japanese cartoon
>>
>>22088055
>If I decide to flip meat in 12 hours, I will have to wash more utensils and clean spills.
flip it with your hand inside the container. why would you spill or need a utensil? better yet just flip the entire container on its lid.
>>
>>22088050
but that's not why people order delivery, your point can be applied to people going to restaurants too, people order delivery because they are lazy and the extra $10-$15 is worth it to pay to not leave their house
>>
>>22088065
And it's not a pizza either, what's your point? Anon was talking in general about foods not worth the effort of making at home.
>>
>>22088073
I guess, I didn’t think preparing a marinade and putting onto a 3 lb pork butt would take 40 minutes. You have to cut the pork butt and prepare marinade and all that. Many little things.
>>22088114
I try to avoid washing my hands and it is in a casserole dish with plastic wrap.
>>
>>22088119
Well, first step of this marinade took up 40 minutes. Roasting and cleaning tomorrow will take up another 2 hours.
>>
>>22088121
Pizza isn’t worth the effort.
>>
>>22088075
>this isn’t Chinese food it’s just roast pork
>I only know this Chinese bbq method
You are a fucking certified retard, get the fuck off this board
>>
>>22088159
It just a pork that is roasted. Other recipes tend to recommend pulled pork. I want chunks of meant.
>>
>>22088159
The ingredients are Chinese but op was more focused on the cooking style.
Roast pork is just roast pork. And he is right, most recommend recipes on google tend to be pulled pork or something.
>>
>>22088154
>I try to avoid washing my hands
what the fuck?
>>
>>22088165
Soap is bad for your hands.
>>
>>22088168
anons hands
>>
>>22088173
Gloves. They wear gloves in restaurant kitchens but you are still rinsing and washing your hands multiple times regardless.
>>
>>22088050
how can this take more than 10 minutes, 15 tops? Also marinade the meat in a ziplock bag of appropriate size. Shifting the meat around is just a matter of turning the bag.

Good choice of Lee Kum Kee for the hoisin and oyster sauce.
LKK invented oyster sauce.
And while they didn't invent hoisin they were the original brand of bottled hoisin sauce.
Hoisin just means "seafood" and there were many varieties in Hong Kong before LKK. But since LKK became the best seller, their recipe is the standard all others copy.
The original hoisin sauce used to contain seafood such as oysters, so LKK oyster sauce is probably closer to the original hoisin sauces used by Hong Kong street food vendors back in the day.

Lee kum kee didn't invent oyster sauce, you moron.

When Lee Kum Sheung forgot about a pot of oysters simmering on the hob, he inadvertently created oyster sauce and launched one of the world’s largest food companies. Find out more about the amazing story behind this delicious condiment.

>>
>>22088296
Actually, Lee Kum Kee is widely credited with inventing oyster sauce in 1888. According to the brand's history, founder Lee Kum Sheung accidentally created it in Guangdong, China, when he left a pot of oyster soup simmering for too long, reducing it into a rich, flavorful paste.

You're not supposed to cook like that every fucking night. The majority of your meals should be very simple meals like chicken/rice/veggies. Doing that shit every single night will burn you out on cooking. Eating is a basic function and you don't need to have an orgasm in your mouth for every meal.
>>
>>22088050
Doordash and uber eats wouldn't bring nearly expired meat like this so it's much better
>>
>>22088307
Cool.
>>22088357
> and you don't need to have an orgasm in your mouth for every meal.
Actually I do, having an orgasm in your mouth every meal is how you avoid eating out.
>>
>>22088357
>>22088428
Why do you think people are so addicted to eating out?
>>
>>22088357
>you don't need to have an orgasm in your mouth for every meal.
don't ask your mom about her diet I've been helping her with
>>
>>22088050
The hell are you doing to create a mess while preparing a marinade? You're just pouring stuff into a bowl. What are you trying to do, trickshot from across the kitchen? Honestly should take like 5 mins max
>>22088168
I guess the messy kitchen makes sense..
Get some moisturizer if you have dry hands, it will change your life and let you wash your hands as much as you should be
>>
>>22088057
They do with experience. You just have to get reps in.

1. This will yield you many servings more than doordash. Yummy delicious leftovers.

2. Delivery is stupid for EVERYTHING other than Pizza and Chinese, because everything else is soggy, lukewarm, and gross by the time it arrives. The foam dripping with condensation that will rain water over your food as soon as you open it making it even worse.

3. All you need to flip that is 30 seconds and a fork.
>>
>>22088485
>fork
Okay. I will do that tomorrow.

Anyways, I spent like an hour cleaning dishes today. I also made a pork broth so today was literally two big food projects. Tomorrow is just broth drinking and eating poor. Probably less work tomorrow.
>Chinese
Sounds like a rip off. Those black box containers are so small. I don’t get how so many people order out or eat out.
Pizza, I can buy frozen.
>>
>>22088470
What’s the problem? You probably don’t wash enough if you don’t see a problem.
>>
>>22088447
>clean butcher board
>clean butcher knife
>take out all that bottles of sauce
>take about spoons
>take out bowls
>follow recipes and spoon each sauce into bowl
>mix
>take pork out package
>cut into two pieces
>marinate
>raw pork touched counter
>etc etc etc
A lot of work.
>>
>>22088496
people are lazy to a weaponized degree agnon
>>
>>22088505
why are your butcher board and knife pre-dirtied?
why are you acting as though taking out the cookware takes more than 10 seconds?
why is your raw pork touching the counter? that's what the butcher board and bowls are for
