Gf has Gerds and acid reflux. As of late food has become scary to ear because a lot of the time it isn't staying down, or is giving stomach pains. Some days are better than others, but other days she can't have cucumbers or tofu without getting sick. We have found that plain Matzah and Chicken Soup are safe generally, but that's all we have found so far. We tried Matzah Ball Soup which uses those two plus eggs and canola oil. That was fine, too.Wondering what are some different foods i can make to help her stay energized and healthy Without triggering Gerd? Any suggestions?

>>22092958THIS BITCH EATIN BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The solution is to find a girlfriend that isn’t a ham planet. You can do better.
>>22092961People who eat bread are disgusting fatasses.
>>22092958Look up low FODMAP diet, that pretty much overlaps with most GERD diet plans. Cut out the obvious (tomatoes, citrus fruits, fatty cuts of meat, coffee, sugar drinks, cola, chocolate, alcohol) or only consume them in moderation (i.e. as a treat 1-2 a month). Also get her to start writing a food diary and list everything she notices that triggers her GERD or anything else (IBS, etc., there's usually an overlap). For me it helped me find out that canned tuna fucks me up if it's not cooked, and I have to keep it very low on oil in my food, and limit myself to 1-2tsps per meal. Also coffee really fucked me up, so either have decaff or none at all. Also basic shit, like losing weight if she's overweight, exercise daily, not eating too close to bedtime, propping up the head of the bed to help prevent reflux, stress reduction techniques, yoga, and getting an endoscopy to rule out any significant esophageal damage (+ pre cancers).Gerd and digestive shit fuggin sucks, but everyone reacts differently to triggers and she may be fine with stuff that others won't be and vice versa. So a blanket reccomendation on 'what foods are safe' will be different to everyone, but if she can stomach chicken soup and veggies then stick to that for a while. Maybe try oats for breakfast, and cut back on bread. t. sufferer
>>22092958One thing I’ve found is if I have an issue with a food sometimes it doesn’t happen immediately. On the flip side for me it can take a few days for any reaction to clear out>>22093093Excellent advice, a food diary especially helped me figure out the couple of foods that were giving me issues (such as black pepper, which I’d put on lots of food)
>>22093093The first time I heard about FODMAP was at an annual physical, the doctor said "IDK, look it up".
Different people have different triggers. For me it's mung bean sprouts and cabbage.
I'd she has gerd that bad she needs to be on medication for it. Either famotidine or a PPI.
>>22092958I had real bad gerd for a while. Plain rice, steamed veggies, chicken. Never fails.
>>22093093This guy knows what's up. It's not the same exactly but my wife has Crohn's which is similar in terms of gut and food troubles.
>>22093093Damn, im really grateful i dont have any food allergies or aversions after reading a post like this
>>22093244wtf is wrong with cabbage
>>22092958Funny, this has come up twice today (well, ok, you posted Saturday, so sue me for not seeing it until now).I had problems with reflux for years, particularly at night when I'd suddenly wake up with a throat full of stomach acid. Turns out I was starting to develop lactose intolerance, and that was generating a lot of intestinal gas whenever I had cereal for breakfast. The gas would eventually force its way backwards into my stomach and force all of the stomach acid up my esophagus.I still occasionally had problems with it, developed diabetes, and went strict keto diet. That solved the GERD problem for me. The only time I have any problems with it now are when I eat something with a lot of peanut butter late in the evening before going to bed.I had a related but different problem with butter. For some reason eating anything with a lot of butter caused heartburn, even during the day. It wasn't stomach acid forcing its way out, though, it was more like acid vapors making their way up my esophagus.
>>22096391That sounds like an enzyme problem.>DiabeticYeah look into "pancreatic insufficiency"You might find generic "digestive enzymes" supplements helpful. It sounds like you're low in lactase and lipase. They're not expensive, under $10 a bottle. And you can get them anywhere like CVS or Walgreens
>>22092958If you have GERD, take Prilosec (omeprazole). It's like a light switch. There's no other real solution besides surgery.
>>22096407Seriously, don't fuck around here with 4chan grade remedies. There's no retarded holistic food-based solution. It's all wives tales. Omeprazole or surgery are the only options. You might consider getting an endoscopy - if you've had this untreated for years you might have Barret's esophagus, which can turn into cancer.
Put de lime in de coconut
9mm aspirin
>>22096409>Barret's esophagusGod damn them all!
>>22096897RIPtoo soon
>>22096409No that's completely retarded. There are many different causes of acid reflux, for example certain foods, being overweight, smoking, stress/anxiety, hormonal changes, hernia, stomach ulcers, bacterial infections etc etc. If someone's symptoms are being caused by for example smoking or being fat or anxious, then it's sub 70 IQ to say their only solution is medication or surgery. Find and treat the cause, not the symptom.
>>22096411>Put de lime in de coconutBest answer in this threadYou add lime juice to coconut water and drink em bot' togedderPut de lime in de coconut and den you feel bedder
>>22096951The solution is to go to the doctor. But the doctor is not going to give you a dietary "fix". He's going to tell you: take Prilosec. They probably won't even offer you surgery if you have a hiatal hernia (one of the main causes of GERD) because the standard practice is: if omeprazole fixes it - that's all we do.

>>22092958A friend fixed his by going keto/carnivore. He was pretty bad and now is good. Maybe have her try first with eggs and cheese. Good luck. Gerd is suck city.
Basically just everything boring no spices no fats no sugars nothing with any acid in it. I had to take a two week recovery diets for some stomach problems too and I was basically making egg white omelets with low fat cheeses like goat cheese and and then rice dishes with lean protein or super lean turkey burgers with nothing on them. One tasty thing though that I was making that worked really nice was a naan topped with sliced lean meat, goat cheese, onion (must be cooked well) and bell peppers Kind of like a mix between a fajita and a doner kebab. That was pretty damn good and I still am eating it now off the diet. Also lots of bananas and sweet potatoes those are really good for you. Also ghee is ok in moderation as a butter sub.
my triggers are peanut butter and orange juice. had both one morning and it wrecked my stomach.
