Why didn't anybody ever tell me that this is the perfect hot sauce?

it's either that or the green one. I suggest having both on hand, they're wonderful
>>
Franks is better
>>
>>22093757
Because its not.

dress chips and use on esquites for the Mexican/LatAm taste.

can be used as a multi purpose sauce for Tortas, but tacos require an Adult salsa.

it's smooth and nostalgic, otherwise has good taste. says its mild, so hot sauce does not need to be extremely hot. too hot burns the tongue.

you are not an idiot... that is "God tier" my reddit friend. you were not told because well, you only know idiots.

but the homemade salsa made by most Mexican ladies 50+ green or red kicks its ass any day of the week

how does it compare to Cholula? I can't find anywhere that has it but I can find Cholula
>>
>>22094203
>how does it compare to Cholula?
no clue, but I can tell you about the flavor, tastes like a tomatoey hot sauce, nothing like (for example): siracha, tabasco, etc. those are peppery tasting sauces, this one is tomatoey and a very good flavor by itself, the hotness is almost mild, however there's a hotter version. I don't like the hotter version, I prefer the standard, the hot/taste ratio is more balanced.
it's a mexican import, you can probs find it at big brand supermarkets or mexican/latino import stores
>>
>>22093757
>Why didn't anybody ever tell me that this is the perfect hot sauce?
Because this isn't Red-dit. Not nearly as many hot sauce hipster faggots here

You sound like a feminized faggot. It's always the biggest pussies who use hot sauce which is ironic.
>>
>>22094207
Yeah I had a feeling being a Mexican sauce it was more of a vegetably tomatoey flavour (which also true about Cholula). I'll have to hunt it down, there's an exotic market near where I used to live that has aisles of hot sauces from all around the world, they'll have it
>>
>>22094214
Thanks anon I'll take this feedback onboard. Moving ahead I'll see if we can circle back in the future and touch base on this topic again.

la botanera is the only hot sauce I've ever bought that I poured down the drain. absolute dogshit. it tastes like someone tried to replicate valentina and failed horribly.
>>
>>22094215
I don't know if I'd call it exotic. I get it at Walmart. And I wouldn't call it tomato-y. It's more floral than most hot sauces - there's a much stronger chile powder note. The only thing I'd say it has in common with cholula is that they are both very tangy. Heat level is a little bit below Frank's. Although the extra hot version is quite hot.

>>22093757
I get the one with the little Mayan guy on it.
>>
>>22094672
the main point is that it doesn't taste peppery like tabasco or siracha
>>
>>22094203
It's thicker Cholula basically, same flavor profile. And costs about 1/8th as much per oz.
>>
>>22094207
There's literally no tomato in Valentina or Cholula anon. It tastes like everything mexican does, garlic onion oregano epazote cumin.

My experience with hot sauces that look like that (brown) is that they lose all interesting flavors and just become unbearably hot. They don't flavor anything - it's just a capsaicin assault.

ive only had cholula and franks before. northern american hot sauces are not super common in germany but I feel like they taste more of vinegar than chili and arent very hot. is that generally the case or i did i just have bad luck twice

This is my go-to for mass produced hot sauce, and I rarely by any boutiquey shit. It's thick, has a good pepper flavor instead of just vinegar and salt, and actually has heat to it unlike most widely available sauces. The habanero and chiltepin type is also great; it has a nice citrus flavor and pairs well with grilled chicken and seafood.

I got some green hot sauce called “gator drool” from this online redneck food personality called stalekracker. i started putting it on my eggs and mexican food but eventually ended up just straight up sipping that shit like a beer it was insanely good.

In fact all his products ai bought were awesome, recipe included. I wish i was american so it was cheaper to order and I had fat tit redneck wife and guns.

>>
>>22101214
Neither of those is hot at all. Franks is basically a vinegar and salt sauce, Cholula has a lot of dried spice content like cumin that makes it less of a raw ingredient. I only buy stuff that you'd find in a regular grocery story rather than order offline and that basically tops out at habanero sauces, which are nowhere near as hot as just biting into a habanero.
>>
>>22093757
I like having it around but it is kinda too hot with some things. I'm a Tabasco babby.
>>
>>22103430
yep, the ghost pepper one is a noticeable amount hotter I'd say
>>
I don't care what anyone says, Tapatio and Cholula suck. There are much better Mexican hot sauces like OP's

they changed their label but I only use this anymore unless I make my own. you get peppers and garlic with just a little bit of molasses-y sweetness. it’s all you need to taste in a hot sauce
>>
Da Bomb actually tastes good but yeah the heat is too much. Hot take
>>
>>22104507
yeah there are only like 3 breeds of peppers that are both very hot and actually taste good. ghost peppers, carolina reapers, and trinidad scorpions. when minimally processed even habaneros can be incredibly hot and at least have the benefit of being the best tasting hot pepper.

just got my hands on a few of them.
i like spicy, although not indian tier spicy because my pastapizza cuisine is not super big on heat.
i had a few thin slices on bread and i have to agree with >>22104511 in that they taste great.

i was thinking
>on bruschettas with EVOO and tomatoes
>just throw some into pasta sauce to give it a kick

also, i have some marinated chicken i was going to pan fry later. can i just throw a little bit in it during cooking, or should i add it at the end as a sort of dressing?

>>
>>22094214

I tried the truff hotter and it was interesting to have an oil based sauce
very sharp flavor with little aftertaste
current favorite is melinda's roasted garlic habanero, black el yucateco, and the ghost pepper el yuc when I want something extra hot
>>
DID SOMEBODY SAY

HOT SAUCE????
>>
>>22107456
not a lot of meat on habaneros I’d probably slice it really thin and put in at the very end. I want to try making a sweet glaze with them sometime like the sonic island fire sauce
