It's the coldest darkest day of the year so far and I'm enjoying some sweedish meatballs with cranberry chilli sauce and garlic mashed potatoes.

Post your favourite winter feeds ITT

Might seem a little weird, but: slow cooker meatloaf. a.) it's meatloaf and b.) it takes 4 hours so your whole house smells awesome and you get a little extra blast of warmth.

dis nigga eatin balls
>>
>>22093982
they’re not even swedish. that would require the cream gravy
>>
>>22093986
the style of meatball (i.e. the ingredients in the meat) is swedish style rather than an italian or other kind. so not made with oregano, basil, garlic, parmesan, etc.

we had a thread recently discussing slow cooking meatballs and cocktail weenies in BBQ sauce as a beloved party food, so I said I would do some meatballs and post them.

I chose to forego a BBQ/jam based sauce and instead found a chilli sauce/cranberry sauce recipe. It's pretty good, although I do think I would ultimately have preferred gravy. Live and learn.

You know what the best part is about making meatballs?

Is that some people don't know how.

Chicken quesadillas. Love them.
I made 'em last night with just a simple cheese, corn, onion, chicken filling. Little cup of sour cream for dipping. So damn good.

I love me a humble bowl of cream of wheat on a frosty cold morning. Big old pat of butter, little honey, enjoy with coffee.

In Winter I love bacon and black bean soup. You can mix any kind of vegetables in there, make it spicy or full of herbs and garlic. And you can add wine, beer or balsamic vinegar to give it depth.
It's really versatile. I make garlic cheese naan for dipping

Swedish meatballs typically go with lingonberry so cranberry should be really good too. Having a bit of a spicy sauce doesn't sound bad either. I've made meatballs adding a little bit of sambal oelek in the past with a cream sauce but I might try a berry and chili sauce now. Interesting tip.

I'd have personally gone for 50/50 extra virgin olive oil and butter.
