this is my all time favorite slop food
>>22094350Full hearted endorsement of this notion, fry that shit up with some eggs & chiles
>>22094350I wish we had easy slop cans like that here in the Netherlands
>>22094350>he thinks this is slop
>>22094350Once you've had the real thing, though, you can never go back.
>>22094464>the real thingPotatoes, onion and ham. Most common foods on the planet.
>>22094508corned beef is not ham
>>22094508that's not ham and what does ham have to do with corned beef hash you stupid fucking idiot
>>22094509>>22094510
>>22094464nah, that's not true at all. I prefer the 'fake' thing.
>>22094464>he thinks that's hashed
>>22094350Great for winter camping if you have a stove and some eggs.
>>22094350>just heathaha, yeah
You just gotta make sure it's fried crispy, then fry an egg or two in the same pan. Don't really need much else, I guess some tomatoes or chiles could be good to cut the richness.
>>22094517>>22094464yeah the fake thing is way better in this case. I don't want giant chunks of hash. i want blitzed industrial hash. and I want it to have a canned and homogeneous flavor. and I want it to have so much fat that you can dump it in a pan and fry it to a crisp in its own oil.>>22094362it's really good. real salty though. good weekend breakfast for when you plan to do nothing for 6 hours after you eat it.
>>22094622>blitzed industrial hashThis is the key. You can mash it down into a proper thin patty on the pan, making it easy to crisp up and flip. It's one of those weird foods that smells like ass but tastes awesome though.
Corned beef hash omelettes are the best but nobody hereabouts (metro Detroit) make them.
That canned shit actually delicious you just have to be very disciplined and make your fat ass not touch it until it's crispy on the bottom.. then crack a couple eggs on that bad boy and have it with some crusty white toasted bread
>>22094464It looks like absolute shit.. it should be cut into smaller pieces and browned far more.. the whole appeal is the extra surface area getting crunchy and toasty
>>22094350Really easy to make.
>$4 a canwe're in real tough times
>>22094350Mix it with a can of sausage gravy and some crumbled breakfast sausage.
>>22096752That seems a little decadent, but no judge
>>22094856There is a diner in Springfield IL that does a corned beef hash omelet that has melted swiss cheese on top then is smothered in sausage gravy.Quite good
>>22094350they put an egg on the can because they know whats going to happen. i like to melt a bit of cheese in there too.
>>22094856I didn't know you were allowed to do this
>>22094861Okay, how about this one?
>>22094861I don't like it crispy at all I basically just put it in a pan to warm it up
>>22094856oh man these are a staple in new england
>>22094350Nice
>>22094856You’re…allowed to make this?
>>22098616ya mom lets me use the stovetop.
