Are SMEG machines really that good? They're expensive, so they have to be good.
I always think of Smegma when I see that brand.
>>22098944What a terrible goddamn brand name.
I like the aeshetic but yeah not happening
their $1000 Dolce and Cabana limited edition series is really something
>>22098950I think of Red Dwarf
>>22098944Moulinex is shitWMF is shitthis one evokes the same level of quality, supermarket deluxe items for middle class no cooks. Hard to repair, or clean, but pretty.
>>22099047Too bad we aren't getting another season. I was hoping for geriatric comedy.
>>22098944Bet that name is pronounced in some retardedly convoluted name, like "Smayhh".
>>22098944They're great if you have a midcentury aesthetic in your kitchen and need functional modern appliances that fit it as opposed to modern appliances that are blockish, stainless steel and clash with a Danish Modern Breakfast table and chairs
>>22098944Shut up smeg
Handling returns in retail I get these sometimes. The water kettle details are shitty plastic and the lid of several ones failed to keep closed due to lack of descaling. That's usually limited to the shittiest ones that barely close when brand new.
>>22098944very much form over function appliances
>>22098944more like smegma
>>22098944Good quality, but for something like a kettle it really doesn't matter.
>>22099155Smaug
>>22099610Good one
>>22098944Yes. Uncut master race wins again
Damn, I always thought Smeg was British, but it's Italian. It's over.
>>22098944Had one of their dishwashers in the past. It worked fine for years, but, like all dishwashers, wore out eventually.
>>22098944It's a scam to rip off idiots
>>22099549heheheheheheh
>>22098952Yeah, always reminds me of SMEGMA
>>22099703I have literally never had a dishwasher wear out in my entire life. My current one is at least 15 years old, maybe older if it wasn't new when I moved in.
>>22100655>dishwasherWhirlpool used to be the golden standard and mine still works.
One rental cabin me and my friends rented for a weekend had a Smeg fridge/freezer combo and Smeg toaster, and a kettle. The fucking fridge alone is almost 4000 euros here
i prefer Gourmetmaxx
>>22100756We be gourmet maxxin up in dis bitch
>>22098944After physically handling their electric kettle on a demo unit and feeling how plasticky and shitty it felt (for 2x the price of even the nicest glass one there) I swore to never waste money on the stuff myself.
>>22099574Why do they look like shit then?
>>22098944I'll only buy a SMEG toaster if it can talk to me
hell noretarded dogmom "flex"
>>22100655The new ones are astonishingly quiet and low-stresst. has a loud ass dishwasher that shakes the floor and you have to manually scoop out the detergent when the box thingy flips open otherwise you get detergent residue in the rinse cycle and your dishes have detergent traces on them
>>22101141>you have to manually scoop out the detergent when the box thingy flips open otherwise you get detergent residue in the rinse cycle and your dishes have detergent traces on themjust run it again without detergent
>>22101159That adds like 2 more hours and wastes an insane amount of electricity for no reasonI should mention this is with the pods, maybe if I went liquid I'd have no issues but for some reason I like the pods, aesthetically
>>22101141I don't care about fancy new shit that will break in a quarter of the time as the old ones. You know you don't have to put the detergent in the detergent spot right? Just throw it right into the main area.
>>22098944Their drip coffee maker is fine. It makes coffee.
>>22101265That's what I do, in fat specifically I place it on top of the drain filter because that spot seems to get the most agitation so it breaks up faster and there's less chance of weird bits of undissolved goo stuck to my glasses and shitBut there's something really nice about a dishwasher where you can barely even tell it's on. I mean I'd rather have a lot of other things for the money it would take to get one, but if someone else is paying for it? The new shit is great, in that case
>>22098944buy an ad.
>>22101252Like 50 cents worth. Dishwashers are actually very efficient. Well maybe not yours because its a POS
>>22101294Yeah the issue is you seem to think good features are like a buffet where you can have quiet and energy efficient but it sucks at circulation or whatever. That's not really how this works, if I got a newer fancier one it would improve all of those issues at once, but this one works (sort of)I'm just saying on weeks when I'm doing a lot of dishes I notice the "you used more/less energy this week" notices are higher, and it's a gas stove so it's not from that. Maybe I'm opening and closing the fridge more? But the fridge doesn't make so much noise. Dishwasher is noisy as fuck so it must be terribly inefficient.
>>22101252It sounds like you have a shitty dishwasher. I use pods too and the only time I've had a problem is the pod door not opening for some reason. Then I do have to manually scrape out the pod sludge and rewash. That's only happened a few times in a decade plus of having the dishwasher. Mine is a Bosch. What brand do you have?
>>22101282>You can't discuss kitchen appliances on the cooking board!
>>22101278>in fat
>>22101302>I notice the "you used more/less energy this week" notices are higherThe fuck? Where do you live that you're getting notices about your energy usage?
>>22101317Yes I think I've said that a few times already. It's a Frigidaire. My brother got a Botch and it sucked even worse than this one. The hot water thingy failed so the dishes kept coming out filthy. Botch tool like 3 months of fiddling with replacing parts and finally he raised a fuss with Costco and they did something idk, sent him a new one or something. So my family is fairly anti-botch (but still pro-Costco)>>22101369A first world country?
You guys don't get these every week? I thought this was pretty much universal
>>22101341>in fat
>>22100890Some like the retro styling.
>>22101391I can check mine online but they don't send me a notice unless there's a noticeable discrepancy.
>>22101282oh noooo!!! I-I think I want to buy a smegma toaster now!
>>22101322This is a fast food, frozen pizza and alcoholic board.
>>22101698I can probably disable it but it's once a week and I kind of like it. And I'm never going to log into my electric account, are you kidding me? Who tf does that? I set it up for autopay like 5 years ago and haven't logged in since.
>>22102087>>22101391turn that shit off.they're trying to police your behavior; make you constantly think about energy consumption.you don't need a notification about using an extra dollar of electricity during one particular day
>>22098999Thise look like they would be right at home on the counter of a poor Mexican family right next to the Jesus candles.
>>22098944Only if it's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere, and you're all alone, more or less.
>>22101317Nta but no shit retard
>>22102087>sticking with one provider for five yearsyou are getting ripped off
>>22098944Fun, fun, funIn the sun, sun, sun
Ah SMEG, ma's favorite brand
>>22098944SMEGma
>>22098950That's the first thing I thought of too.
>>22098950smegma balls lmao
>>22102388>wasting energy is good, actuallyWhat causes this mental illness?
>>22103659You're not wasting energy though. Leaving all your shit on while you leave your house for 8 hours is wasting energy. Using an energy efficient appliance to clean dishes and utensils is not a waste.People can get sick and die from dirtiness.
Just reminded me Smegheads recent passing. Thanks alot.
>>22098944imagine buying a product that is called SMEGMA lmao
>>22103669Actually I do sometimes leave my AC on when I'm out.And my dishwasher is not energy efficient, and the context where the energy use came up was "just run it twice bro" instead of opening it when the detergent thing opens so that I can scoop it out and make sure there's no extra residue leftYou are literally telling me that it's not a waste to run a dishwasher twice to save like 5 seconds of effort. This is your argument. That this is somehow a reasonable thing to do. You are obviously one of those performative coal roller guys who purchases gender-affirming products to create gratuitous environmental destruction to trigger the libtards
