But at last they freeze the salmon, unlike some restaurants

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdUqH3uXmf8

I'd rather eat supermarket sushi than a local sushi restaurant that you don't know anything about.
>>
it's okay around here.
Always asians making it which is a bit odd. I saw a white women doing in once but I guess she was just filling a shift or didn't like it.
Can't figure out why Indians don't make sushi, it's a total scam like pizza, and they are all over pizza.

It is a bit too expensive thought. 9CAD for a California roll, 11 or 12 CAD for a Salmon roll. And it isn't packed with meat like in your image.

I have to agree though, local sushi places ran by mom and pop usually suck. Terrible flavors, not so fresh. Somethings they offer are cheaper than the Supermarket.

Also I hate talking to Mom and Pop. If these people could figure out contactless pickup I might go. For the one's that are actually good.

>Always asians making it which is a bit odd.
Yeah, and they are always chinese, viet or thai... they don't know sushi but they are asian enough, that's racist as fuck.
>>
>>22099504
I was in Tokyo earlier this year, the sushi boxes they had at Tokyo Station (the food court in the lower level) were better than the ones i had in a Mom and Pop restaurant where i had to watch them do and compliment them and shit.
>>
>>22099496
i shit on all sushi because it tastes bad.
now the fuck you gon' do?
>>
>>22099525
That's the average Boomer take
>>
>>22099527
you say boomer like it's a bad thing, anon.
>>
How do you even know it's salmon?
>>

>be non-japanese asian race of some sort
>apply to sushi-making job
>tell then you're japanese and make a lot of sushi at home to get the job
>"wtf man thats racist!"

>>22099502
It's always dumpy Latinx women making supermarket sushi round these parts (east coast)

I'm glad super market sushi is still one of the last bastions of racial profiling for hiring. If it aint asian hands making my raw fish rice, I DONT WANT IT.

>People like to shit on supermarket SUSHI
so it's got e.coli then?
>>
ummm excuse me, where is the avocado, mayonnaise, yummy hot sauce and crunchy munchy corn flakes??
>>
>>22099496
There's a Mitsuwa near me and their sushi is legit pretty good.
>>
>>22099506
>chinese, viet or thai...

The majority are and have always been korean owned. It's why american sushi rolls look more like gimbap than sushi half the time
>>
>>22099496
there's a supermarket where i live that makes fresh sushi daily. how is it any worse than what a restaurant makes?
>>
>>22099502
i think the only japanese person i have ever seen in my life is the guy making my supermarket sushi
>>
>>22099502
I always see SEA asians making it. Which is fine, I guess. I used to be on real good terms with the one at my Supermarket, until he left one day. I hope he's doing fine.

A vietnamese, classic sushi maker, kek.

it used to be good. now they make it themselves and it's total dogshit smothered in sauce

A good vietnamese, I hope he's doing well.

Because at a super market it sits out an unknown number of hours in the cooler before its sold, cooling it degrades the sushi rice. A sushi restaurant makes each roll to order.
>>
>>22100518
>they leave the rice to sit for hours in a plastic container
>you're supposed to leave it to sit for hours in a big wooden tub!

Just go to Japan if you want grocery sushi. For 3 bucks you can get a ton of rolls or one huge strip of salmon. Thats what I did. You can even get a huge platter with four or five different fish/shrimp/scallops etc for about 5 dollars that could feed a family.

Knock that down with a few 60-75 cent 9% Strong Zero and you have yourself a night.

snobs shit on everything below michelin starred.
premade store sushi tastes fine.
the only issue is the price is basically the same as if you went to a sushi place, which annoys me. so i've sworn off sushi due to my own poorfaggotry. it's little bitch food for wannabe rich ppl. i only like the eel one anyway.

(thanks for reading my blog post)

I'm not missing anything. It's not only cheaper but much much better. Even combini sushi is cheap and great and have you even been to a Japanese Costco? Don't get me started.
>>
>>22100715
yeah, we've been to Japan too, sister.
>>
>>22100715
It's not cheaper to fly halfway across the world to japan to get grocery store sushi. It would be cheaper and better to just put in a carryout order at a decent sushi place in town when you feel like you want it. A good sushi restaurant in the US is better than a random grocery store in japan, but here comes the part where you pretend otherwise.
>>
>>22100646
One is refrigerated and one isn't, brainlet.
>>
>go to sushi section of the grocery store

OFF
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>
>>22102483
When you only have california rolls, it means that your area is not fully gentrified.
>>
>>22099502
>Always asians making it which is a bit odd.

Oftentimes sushi counters are their own franchises inside the store, so they aren't staffed by store employees.

Grocery store sushi can be a very good deal, especially when purchased by the tray. They're meme rolls, but restaurants in the US are mostly meme rolls as well and will cost 3x as much plus tip. $50 dollars will feed a family of four.

I miss Hawaii where you could get spicy tuna inarizushi from convenience stores.

>>22103161
You are the equivalent of a girl getting regularly raped by her bf and still staying in the relationship. How does it feel, slut?
>>
>>22103178
Rapetown has a lot of other great videos and the rape really isn't that bad, actually.
>>
>>22103161
I had the same problem you have. I ended up installing a firefox extension that completely removes the youtube shorts tab, and redirects any shorts links to their normal video versions..
>>
>>22103103
probably true but the thing is japan preserved a lot of the tang dynasty culture that china lost in suceeding dynasties. so sushi is really japans own thing now
like kimonos are based off the courtly style of the Tang, korea is closer to the Ming, and China larps as the Han dynasty when they really should be the Qing
>>
>>22099779
this but with anything I eat
>>
>>22102813
Thankfully, the Superstore (Loblaws) near me is by the Asian community and they have SEA grandmas making it fresh at the counter. The Jeet area superstore is on the east side of the city (Mordor) and I dare not go there.
>>
>>22103161
>>22103182
Bro is prolly still on Chrome too.... time to take the Firefox pill. I'm sure there are even better browsers, but FF has done the job for me with uBlock and TamperMonkey for scripts and other no no extensions Chrome has banned.
>>
>>22099496
toooo be fair supermarket sushi is really not that great. like ok it's fine, but the franchise at my supermarket puts their shitty fake crab into literally fucking everything and covers it all in mayo which is gross and it's roughly the same price as what i'd typically get at a sushi restaurant (yes tip included). plus usually i have to deal with the jeet crashouts when there's no vegetarian rolls left.
>>
>>22099502
When I'm in Vancouver, I usually eat 7-Eleven sushi at least once a week. It's not top notch but for a convenience store, it's pretty good. Wouldn't buy it from a 7-Eleven in the states.
>>
Is it ok if a Jewish-Korean-American makes sushi at a grocery store that celebrates the Confederacy?
>>
>>22104710
What exactly makes it kosher? No cream cheese?
