What's the latest thrift store kitchen gadget you've found? I got this big ass Lincoln 4611 wear-ever aluminum colander for $4 today I have no idea what I'm going to do with it but it was $4 and in good shape.

>>

Is there butter in that butter dish?
>>
>>22101554
Not with a stubby hobbit hand like that he can't.

Nice find OP, I'm jelous, that's like restaurant quality stuff, should last you forever.
I once went to an estate sale and scored a whole ass food processor with all sorts of different attachments and dodads, it looked brand fucking new, for like 10 bucks.

I went to goodwill last month, and found a Le Cruset tea kettle for $5. Then, I went last week, and almost sitting in the same spot...another one for $5. The only thing is, I don't drink tea lmao
>>
>>22101552
You'll probably get gonorrhea
>>
>>22101552
Stuff like this nests well in other bowls so at worst it will chill in your cabinets not bothering anything.
>>
>>22102365
Lucky fucker, I drink tea all the time I'd love to get one of those
>>
>>22102616
Anon, I would hand you one of your choice
>>
>>22101552
I hardly ever go to thrift stores even though I want to look for stuff, they have weird vibes
>>
>>22102616
why not you know BUY one than , I would never buy second hand cook wares for I'll I know previous owner liked to sh*t in that stuff
>>
>>22102365
Well, they could always be a good gift for someone who does drink tea
>>
>>22102365
Damn, what a find. But, there's like zero point for someone to buy a normal Le Cruset tea kettle, no? Doubt it even heats up faster than steel, or would pours more nicely. The extra weight would definitely be a dealbreaker for many people.

Tho I'd do the same as you as buy two for 10$ damn
>>
If you need a crockpot go to a thrift store. There are so many every time

Correct.

Alessi 9091 exists.

One thing about Le Creuset that is kind of cool is they'll take pretty much anything back and just give you credit or replace what you have entirely
>>
>>22102365
Good deal but they look like shit.
>>
>>22102616
yeah just buy one. if it's something you are using daily then it's worth investing in it. i bought a cast iron tea kettle made in japan for like 300 euros a few years ago and i am super happy with it. i don't have a lot of money but this thing will last me for life and looks amazing. they need to make a new cast by hand for every two to three cast iron kettles they produce.
>>
>>22104639
How does a cast iron tea kettle not chronically suffer from rust?
>>
>>22104641
the one i have has emaille on the inside. also traditionally in japans they use cast iron kettles only for heating the water and then transferring it into cups with the actual tea in it, unlike in europe where both is often done in the same vessel.

they don't always rust and rust in itself isn't dangerous and iron kettles in the past served an important role in delivering iron to the human body by leaching it into the water.
