Used to date a Nigerian girl. Nigerian honey beans seem fairly uncommon.

Yes. I've had some of the heirloom beans from Rancho Gordo. They really are tastier and have a much better texture than common supermarket dried beans.

Dear Anon,
I ate 5 hot dogs yesterday. They were delicious. I put Cheez Whiz on them.
Yours truly,

we don't grow any interesting beans in australia and you can't import any interesting ones from places like rancho gordo because of biosecurity import laws

I've had the 5 Fagioli di Lamon della Vallata Bellunese, yes. The actual ones, the ones that made pasta & fagioli an iconic dish worldwide. Not the ones that got marketed the world over (Italy included) by Royal Sluis and later Bayer/Monsanto as borlotti beans.

When you google this you'll find only 4 varieties (Spagnolit, Spagnol, Calonega, Canalino).

The 5th one, the real gold, is the Fagiolo Gialèt, the yellow bean. It's only grown by 22 people in their private gardens in the Dolomites, not on farms.Only one person in the world has regular access to these beans: the pope. It's not something even top tier restaurants in the region know of or even have access to, you have to know people who know people.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, Rancho Gordo really is fantastic and well worth the money. So are the dozens of rare Italian, Spanish, French, and American heirloom varieties. But they pale in comparison to the original Belluno valley beans, in every aspect. Good luck on your hunt.

I'd like to get my hands on a pair of Nigerian honey beans.
If you know what I mean by that, fldd.
