How do you make a microwaved potato taste good? I put garlic powder and salt and pepper on it but it still just tastes like potato. I don't want to bump up the calories like crazy I just want it to taste good. Should I cut them up and air fry them instead?
>>22103800>it still just tastes like potatoso does an oven baked potato... wtf is this question
>air fryRetard. Get a proper range.
>>22103803>doesn't understand statements that don't make literal senseAutism alert
>>22103806I thought it said microwaved baked potato implying a microwave does something an oven doesn't. An autist wouldn't have imagined a word that wasn't there and would have remained faithful to the text.
>>22103800Add an herb like oregano maybe. I like to make potatoes with taco seasoning or curry powder sometimes. Also add a bit of lemon or vinegar, or whatever you want that is a bit acidic. Salsa also tastes pretty good without adding a ton of calories.
butter, 15 grams of butter is probably enough and around 100 calories
I like to use italian dressing on my microwaved taters
>>22103800Add butter
>>22103808>implying a microwave does something an oven doesn'tyes it does, it cooks it in a fraction of the time
>>22103800>lower power for longer>target 160s to 170sFAir frying is the trick, if you can wait a bit.
>>22103800>I just want it to taste goodboil 'emmash 'emstick 'em up your hole.
You can air fry a baked potato as well just throw it in at 400 for like an hour
>>22103857You can tell the doneness of a potato by the temperature? Good info.
Look it up, microwaving a potato isn't fucking rocket science
For me, it's bumping up the calories like crazy by adding some shredded cheese
>>22103800Get one of these. They're expensive but really awesome for cooking using the microwave. Definitely get the larger sized one though. I got the smaller one and, while it's been really useful, I often wish it were bigger. It's particularly useful for potatoes. You can make things that would normally take over an hour (like potato au gratin) in about 15 minutes.
>>22103800ButterSaltPepperSour creamGreen onionIn that precise order. Don't swap anything or you get mustard gas.
>>22103800You have to boil the potato in flavored liquid like chicken stock and it will soak it up. The same goes for making good rice.Look up how to make greek potatoes and follow that except use a tiny bit of olive oil instead of the whole bottle like people usually do.
>>22103806It's just massively retarded to think that microwaving a potato won't have it tasting like a potato anymore.More add-ons, dumbass.>>22103836It doesn't do anything to the flavor, which was the original question. Maybe sticking to the microwave is for the best with you. Just make sure whatever you put inside comes with box instructions.
>>22103907you're the retard who thought a microwave would have any impact on the taste to begin with, maybe you should stick with the easy bake oven, clearly concepts like steaming are too difficult for you to grasp
salt and acid
>>22103920OP is that retard cluelessly wondering why microwaved potatoes still taste like potatoes. I'm saying the opposite. Reread it again, but slowly.Stay away from anything with a live circuit for the good of your neighborhood.
>>22103800I like what I call "breakfast potatoes," or others call home fries. Contrary to belief, the crispiness and color aren't from oil. Only a tiny amount of oil is needed, just enough to prevent sticking. The desired finish comes from pan-cooking them patiently. But they have to cook for several minutes, not 3-5 minutes. This is why I make a big batch and divvy it into tupperwares using a food scale. Now I have healthy breakfast potatoes 3-4 nights that week. Air fryer or oven probably work too, I've just never tried.
>>22103804Air frying is nice. Get out

>>22103800>potatoes keep tasting like potatoes!>why does this keep happening to me?!
