i’ve been trying american candy bars recently, and i’d say the whatchamacallit is a solid #2, with #1 being a fifth avenue.
I’ve also tried bounty, three musketeers, baby ruth, 100 grand, and the idaho spud. they were mostly good, besides the three musketers which wasn’t bad but overall lackluster.
i have one more to try, that being the milky way midnight.

If you're a yuropoor this is an admirable effort. If you're a red-blooded American you should know better. Use a cast iron, cook on medium-high, and let the ball get a sear for a minute or so next time and fucking smash it properly thin. The whole patty should have a nice caramelized crust on it.

Not quite thin enough to qualify as smash, can see the charring is very weak as well. An effort was made and I'm sure it tasted good but the best I can give you is a 6 out of 10.

Was gonna say this exact same thing. Smash burgers fucking blow to make at home. You can do 1 at a time in most cast iron skillets and you often don't get a nice enough crust cause ground beef from the supermarket is loaded with water.

You need a pack of Snickers bars, and also Reese's pumpkins or eggs.

The "Snickers Xtreme" was the best -- none of that fluffy nougat crap, just a solid bar of caramel-and-peanuts surrounded by chocolate. They were making those around 2006 or 2007, I forget which, for just one summer.

Protip: pre smash the patty in parchment paper and slap it in the pan from the paper, perfect crust and thickness every time
