What does /ck/ do with imitation crab, surimi, Alaskan pollock? Do you like stick or flake? Ive been adding it to Suddenly pasta salads with mayo or ranch for a while now and also used to pan fry it in oil to good results. Seems like affordable protein waiting to be utilized by innovative minds
that shit is mostly carbohydrate filler and is not an efficient form of protein. like at all.
>>22112605Nothing, it's disgusting. I use sardines or canned tuna for cheap ready to eat protein.
>>22112607Its doesnt seem that bad man, there's probably a million worse things you could shovel into your gut
>>22112605You could make a korean style pancake with cabbage, green onions, surimi and a fuckton of sesame oil
>>22112609I appreciate the deenz maxxing and also do this but this thread is about imitation crab and what you do with it
>>22112612I didn't say it was bad as a general food item but it's not a very good source of protein. you have to eat more than half the entire pack to hit 20 grams of protein which is the standard for a decent protein content meal.
>>22112612>CarmineHell yeah brother I love those lil buggers.
>>22112605Crab cakes, pasta, and saladFiller for FillerIts decent outnof the package with cocktail sauce and a spritz of lemon, doesn’t pair well with butter tho
>>22112605I like stick, eat them as a snack with a little bit of dipping sauce
>>22112618Stomp on model trains
>>22112617Do you have a recipe you like? Never even heard of Korean pancakes>>22112620Who says Im not eating other things with it? Not every meal has to be entirely complete.>>22112624Cocktail sauce and lemon sounds good, any specific recipes you fuck with for cooking?
>>22112637if you're an adult man and you're eating 3 meals a day, all 3 of those meals should have 20 to 30 grams of protein.
>>22112646i could lift three of you on one arm and i dont eat protein with every meal. stop larping
>>22112646Well I shouldn't be drinking vodka from 8am to the end of the night either but that's where we're at at the moment while I move and find a job, post some on-topic recipes if you would
>>22112656vitamin b1 and a glass of milk
>>22112664I dont think the milk is safe to drink anymore man
>>22112605>Ive been adding it to Suddenly pasta saladswhat's that
>>22112670you can use slightly sour milk to make pancakes. if you're drinking that much please take a B1 pill every day though to prevent wet brain. probably b12 as well.
>>22112605Why isnt real crab sushi a thing? I hear its more expensive but okay then just have more expensive sushi then? Id buy it every now and then
>>22113233Real crab sushi exists but like you said it's expensive and you have to go to a higher end sushi place to get it
>>22112605I like to put some in neoguri ramen. Also use it for sushi in California rolls
>>22112605I love it. I like it almost as much as I like crab, even though I know they are different things. Crab is essentially more expensive because it's scarce.
>>22112605seafood potato salad>potato cubes>imitation crab cut up>little prawns if you can get them cheaply>hard boiled egg>mayo or tartare sauceIf you enjoy it, celery, red onion.
unravel it thin and fry it, make it crispy. else, throw it into an egg drop / shark fin soup
>>22112605Fry it up with a little butter and mix it with some celery, onion, and mayo for a cheap 90% as good lobster roll.
>>22113349This sounds really good. Going to try it.
>>22112605Using the flake style surimi, I made like faux lobster roll. The sauce was a mixture of cream cheese, ricotta, mayo, green onion, lemon juice, and old bay seasoning. I simmered the chopped flake surimi in some butter and let it cool down before mixing it in the sauce. It was probably unnecessary to do, but it sure did taste good.
I usually empty the entire package into my anus and run backwards at women outside while screaming at the top of my lungs that the fishman has come
>>22112605Would it be gross to make a stuffed crust pizza using the stick version of these? Garlic butter on the edge and for dipping
>>22113875Yes.
My ex used to eat these straight out of the pack, miss her
>>22112605crab rangoon
>>22112612as soon as i see sugar i put it backwhy on earth do they add sugar to everythingi was surprised to see sugar in my mayonnaise lasti'm back at doing my mayonnaise myself
>>22112605I walk by it in the store and marvel at its incredible staying power given that I don't know a single person who holds even a remotely positive view of the stuff.
>>22112605Not a fucking thing. "Sail" brand was the last decently good brand. The MINUTE the packaging changed, it went completely to shit. I'm guessing the usual cost-cutting measures.
>>22114048the crab meat it's imitating is sweet
