Which country does Pizza the best?
>>
>>22112935
America by many miles. Go to Hartford CT.
>>
Putting fries on pizza is insanely UK-coded
>>
Why would you make this false image

>Go to Hartford CT.
Lived there for 7 years. Not really what I'd call the best city for pizza in Connecticut.
>>
>>22112946
looks fine
>>
>>22112945
It’s completely true and has been fact checked by real pizzaiolos
>>
>>22112938
nah new haven mogs it. you know it does. in fact i dont remember much of anything in the way of food that was good in hartford. i did however like the ming dynasty in nearby wethersfield. massive food portions and they had these scorpion bowl drinks that got you FUCKED up.
>>
>>22113042
Do you mean Ming Palace in that plaza / strip mall? They were decent yeah
>>
>>22112939
I’ve lived in the UK my whole life and never once have I seen a pizza with chips on. That’s maybe something a poor kid from a seaside town would eat
>>
>>22112939
Yeah for as popular as fries are here, them as a pizza topping is basically unheard of in America.
>>
>>22112939
hot dogs on pizza certainly isnt though
>>
>>22113042
>>
>>22112935
Greece. I had a gyro pizza with gyro meat, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce instead of tomato sauce. It was good.
>>
>>22113071
I’ve seen them in Venice.
Usually immigrant owned businesses selling to American tourists.
Personally I’ve found the Eastern European nations do pizza very well.
>>
>>22113189
>Fuck what do Americans like?
>uuuuuuuhhhhhhhh FRIES!
>Perfect! What else?
>uhhhhhhhhhhh HOT DOGS!
>>
>>22112935
korea

Connecticut needs to stop pretending it's some kind of pizza destination, the self appointed pizza capital

Oh wow Dave portnoy likes it, who gives a shit he's a drug addict from Boston
>>
>>22113271
I think the claim is that italian tomato pie, as it was referred to back then because no one knew what pizza is yet, was first americanized there, not in new york. But apparently there is no historical record to verify the validity of this claim.
>>
>>22113271
New Haven style pizza is really good though, but it's just the style I prefer. But I also like shitty bar/bowling alley pizzas
>>
>>22112946
That's sad to hear. I guess it's been a number of years but I remember my mind was blown when I went there.

You'd probably love LaRosa's in Cincinnati
>>

>>
>>22113043
no, ming dynasty. it was its own restaurant. sit-down, pretty nice interior, was not your average hole-in-the-wall chinese place. not sure if it's still around since i haven't lived in CT for over a decade
>>
>>22112939
I'm in the UK and I do this. But Italian pizzas are better, especially from a restaurant.
>>
US small chain and private pizzerias (outside of NY and big walkable cities) > yuro pizza > US big city pizza > pizza at US's non-pizzeria places > good frozen pizza >>> large chain US pizza > bad frozen pizza
>>
I wonder what a chinese pizza would be like?

I don't know if that really passes the sniff test because New York is where the Italians originated in the US, New Haven only has Italian people in it because it's adjacent to New York. I just have to imagine people were making that in the location they originally settled before expanding outward. Also I don't think their style is distinct enough to qualify as a style of its own,
There are subsets within New York for example, Staten Island (pic related) is also thin and crispy like New Haven and uses whole pieces of mozzarella like a Margarita and not the shred
Brooklyn style on the other hand goes totally in the other direction and is a square upside down pan pizza, equally good for different reasons.

>>22113277
Your tastes are perfectly valid, The main thing I take issue with is people have somehow been gaslit into believing crispy = quality
A softer preparation is somehow inferior objectively and just not a matter of taste
That "flop" is in some way a negative, like nigga no shit a smaller slice doesn't flop as much as a larger one do you know how gravity works lmao
Domino's has no flop, must be a sign of high quality according to Dave's followers!

To his credit personally though, He has always said his scores are based on his personal taste. it's the people that look at his reviews and have turned his taste into the objective metric of a pizza is good or not.
I saw he even said he's annoyed that all these new pizzerias are opening up and making pizzas with his taste in mind so they can get a good score and exposure rather than just the way they would like it
>>
>>22112935
America of course. The World Protagonists and the best at everything, from bombing thirdies to making pizza. The operative problem is that you can always find some example like OP Pic, usually made by either a Catholic Diaspora (E.G. Italians, Irish) or a Brown Diaspora (E.G. Mexicans, Indians) claiming to be American. We didn't want them when they came here and we don't claim them now. Find a pizza made by an actual American and post it. Dankest shit ever made by mankind. Simple as.

Japan.

Italy. You get an egg, an artichoke, a slice of goat cheese, and a sardine haphazardly stacked on a flat bread with the thinnest veneer micron of tomato sauce and cheese - may as well be a focaccia. And it somehow manages to mog american pizza into oblivion, every single time
>>
I prefer CaSa Bella on Mulberry Street, New York. If you are connected, food is free there.

I'm sure it's good but if I'm in SoHo I'm going to Famous Ben's for what may be the only sfincione in Manhattan
>>
>>22113173
Sounds like something Koreans would do desu
>>
>>22113173
Hot dogs (frankfurters) are german, and pizza is Italian. This, and only this, is the reason why they cannot live in such an unholy matrimony.
>>22112935
Only countries that have Italians make pizza well. There are only two countries in the world that have Italians. Italy and the US.
>>
>>22113477
papa john's had burger pizza for a short time a few years ago
i didn't try it because it didn't sound especially appetizing to me
but now i almost wish i had, because it never came back
i guess that means it must not have been very good though

I feel verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves, I'll give you a topic: The Holy Roman Empire, was neither holy, nor Roman nor an Empire. Discuss.
>>
>>22113484
>Holy
Literally was
>Roman
Absolutely was
>Empire
Do you even have a definition of an empire?
>>
Ayy I'm walkin here, pizan fuggetaboutit just like mia nonna used to make in the old neighborhood
>>

America and it's not even close. Italian za is very good. American za is better. Everyone else puts retarded shit all over it. Euros throw sweet corn and shit all over it, brazil puts hard boiled eggs and shit on there. America and italy got it covered. As much as I hate those spaghetti stomping wops, I would happily form an alliance over the sanctity of the za

i think seattle got rated the best pizza city in north america a few years ago
>>
>>22112935
America. Hands down. Pizza napoletana is the very bottom rung of the pizza ladder.
>>
>>22113638
roll away fagface
>>
>>22114881
The funniest part to me is in my town theres a place that has a certified Neapolitan pizzaiolo which I guess entails following strick EU regulations
It was so unbelievably hyped that this place was opening here and it's literally the most just ok thing you've ever eaten

When lunch time rolls around theres more business happening down the block at "franks" selling slices and Caesar salads
>>
>>22112935
USA, but that example shown looks disgusting.
>>
>>22115751
That's an "American" pizza in Italy.
>>
Crustless pizza is healthiest and the best tasting because no unhealthy bread.
>>
>>22112935
Italian pizza is the best. If you do it with legit ingredients then its not only very good tasting but also you dont feel terrible physically after eating it
>>22114881
full retard
>>
>>22115756
but there are still carbs in the vegetables...
