wait do people really drink just straight lime juice
They’re wild if so. My guess is it’s for margaritas or some shit.
>>22114138I know you're being retarded on purpose, but these are being sold most likely as an organic alternative to the little lemon and lime bottles for cooking or other recipe's
>>22114145that doesn't sound right. these bottles are way bigger
>>22114138I add lime juice to my water =)
>>22114146Some people cook with a lot of juice. Imagine being bartender. How many margaritas do you make a night?
>>22114155>How many margaritas do you make a night?I don't drink, so 0.
Depends on the type of lime. I wanna know why America only has sour ones. Even your "sweet" key limes are sour. Meanwhile, we have sweet, sour and bitter limes in Italy. Why don't you?
>>22114197we already have sweet, sour, and bitter oranges
>>22114160How you you feel if you had margaritas for breakfast?
>>22114212Neat. The sheer variety of citrus from Italy is staggering, though, so I find it weird that since moving to the US, you have, like, four common oranges and one common lemon and lime each. You've got sweet lemons every now and again but they're not common and I've never seen sour or bitter orange for sale here. Unless you're counting grapefruit or calamondins?
>>22114252they're just called sour or bitter oranges. they're used more in caribbean cooking so it's a bit less likely to find them in an average grocery store except maybe in some bottled marinades. some sites say they're called seville oranges or in italy it's melangolo.fruit variety has been slowly increasing in the usa. there are the usual citrus types but i've seen blood/sumo oranges and pomelo sometimes.
>>22114271I'm fucking retarded, sorry. My wife is literally Caribbean and she buys bitter orange from the Caribbean supermarket for her cooking. I completely forgot about them because they're not for eating. So yeah, you're right. They exist and aren't uncommon. >>22114271>blood/sumo orangesYeah, but not common. I buy blood oranges, specifically the ones marketed as raspberry oranges, when I find them. Meanwhile, tangerines and navels are omnipresent, clementines are seasonal and you'll occasionally run into other varieties from time to time, but not often. >pomeloIsn't that a grapefruit? They're huge like grapefruit and have a name that seems cognate with the Italian for grapefruit (pompelmo) so i just assumed it was a grapefruit. Never actually had one. Can't. >fruit variety has been slowly increasingI wouldn't say it's slow! In just the last few years, I'm seeing an explosion of Asian and Latin fruits sold in the regular, chain supermarkets but European fruits are still fairly uncommon here. God forbid you get medlars or tree strawberries in America. Tangentially related but I was surprised to learn that what we call strawberry grape is actually native to the US (scuppernong/muscadine) since I never see it in American supermarkets other than Asian stores. Super popular in Italy.
>>22114289>I'm fucking retarded, sorry. My wife is literally Caribbean and she buys bitter orangelol>Isn't that a grapefruit?yeah it's a type of grapefruit>I wouldn't say it's slow! In just the last few years, I'm seeing an explosion of Asian and Latin fruits sold in the regulartrue. apple and banana varieties have also increased. i'd like to see more varieties of mango and berries but they're probably difficult to ship because they're softer. i think how easy the fruit is to transport is probably a big factor which is why things like apples have increased especially since they're hardy.
>>22114138I blend up limes with sugar in water to make limeade. This would be a lazy way to make it without pulp. It's not as if you have to drink it straight from the bottle without mixing it into anything.
>>22114146I can find 32 oz bottles of lime juice. People aren't drinking it straight. It's not hard to go through that much if you regularly make something like limeade. Using it in desserts and marinades is common too.
>>22114507>It's not as if you have to drink it straight from the bottle without mixing it into anythingOh... Haha, yeah you're right...
It's for cocktails. https://youtu.be/jX8JwCLQFn8?t=296
>>22114138No they drink gay lime juice
>>22114643an unexpected cow chop moment, but a welcome one
>>22114138It says 100% juice - it doesn't say WHAT juice and yeah, I've seen that shit on a couple of different brands. Gotta look at the ingredients.
>>22115000>it doesn't say WHAT juiceit does say what juice right above that
>>22114160that's why he said imagine being a bartender you retard
>>22114138It's organic fag shit. Organic fags eat like retards because they think something tasting like shit means it's good for you.
>>22115019Imagine your are employed, white, and straight.
>>22115008>blindly trusting labelsKwab
>>22114138I mix lime juice mixed roughly 40/60 with cola. It's pretty good.
for me i sprinkle it a bit on carne asada but with lime
>>22114226Can you see the green lime?
>>22114138>>22115008juice is drinkable retard? it's not a juiced lime, it's lime juice.... like apple juice, or orange juice... i can almost guarantee it has sugars and other bullshit in it. maybe pick it up and read the ingredients next time before posting such a stupid fucking post next time?
>>22115019even if i were a bartender i wouldnt be drinking margherita
>>22115348Xhe said making, not drinking.
>>22115335You would be wrong. 100% juice is a pretty strict label. https://www.wegmans.com/shop/product/48680-Lime-Juice
>>22115008That's NOT the ingredient list. That's the name of the product. They can put anything they want on the front of the label - the small-print ingredient list on the back is official.
>>22115808Ewe err knot bury smart.
>>22114138they dont care what you do with it. they juice old fruit in store to reduce shrink. paying a premium for garbage juice.
>>22116114i don't think stores are bottling their own juice like that, that usually comes in prepackaged
