It's real, but also kind of a meme. I spent 4 months in Italy for work. It ruined me for pepperoni which was my fav before, I prefer the wood fire places that have the nice spicy salami now. I'll still eat some double pepperoni franchise slop, especially if it has the crispy cups but that spicy salami is life.
