what do /ck/?
>>22123855medium as the chef intended
>>22123855"spicy" I suppose.
I vote spicy
take mild and if its not good enough add some hot sauce
>>22123855You can pad kee mao DEEZ NUTZ
>>22123855buy some of this stuff. doesnt matter the brand just buy something that says Ot Bam and looks like this.if this isnt exactly what the restaurants use to increase spice levels it's very similar. i use it in my thai curry.
these are always a trap and if you put medium you get inedibly spicyI wonder if mild is actually any different from extra mildI don't mind a little spice, but I feel like there's so many people who complain their food isn't spicy enough that most asian places go overboard and make most of their food way spicier than it needs to be
>>22123855I would go medium spicy and only because I'm not secure enough in my masculinity to go below that.
>>22124956I suspect the restaurant looks at the name on the order>White name>do the exact opposite of whatever they want
>>22124964Thats why you order online and use a ching chong name.
Do medium if you want spice and enjoyment.>>22124964I hate hearing this and only american's think this. Just pick the spice level you actually want and they will give it to you. Sure workers judge your order or whatever but won't change it because your name sounds white.
>>22124969Completely false. I was friends with a Thai person whose family had a restaurant and they wouldn't give whites the spiciest level even if they asked. The reason was they had too many dishes sent back for being too spicy. "White people spicy" in Asian restaurants isn't myth.
>>22124969I went to a Thailandese restaurant with a spice intolerant friend and we each ordered the coconut soup (on my recommendation), and he asked if it was spicy and they said not at all. It came out red and was spicy to the point of being inedible. Hotter than their curries, hotter than vindaloo. It was served with a box of tissues. That shit was 100% on purpose
>>22124980It was revenge for the war
>>22124987But we're not japanese
>>22123855Mild because I’ma big baby and proud
>>22124978Funny story, back around 20 years ago I was living in Taiwan and a housemate took me to an area called "Burmese Alley" near Nanshijiao MRT station. There were a bunch of Burmese refugees living there and some of them had started restaurants.I ended up going back to this one place pretty regularly, like twice a month (they were only open on weekends). They had a bratty son around 10yo who always acted like a bit of a jerk toward me. One weekend he kept pestering me with some question in his incomprehensible foreign gabble and all I could do was smile and shrug. He served me some shrimp curry that was so hot it was damn near impossible to eat but I did anyway because that was my fucking lunch and I paid for it.Anyway, around 15 years later I went back there and the little shit was now a much older shit, still stuck working there in the family restaurant, because he was too much of an asshole to get an education and do something with his life. So sometimes karma exists.
>>22124978In college there was this Thai place that had spice levels 1-5, I always got a 4 and that was pushing it. One day I went in and saw they had a notice that they'd start charging extra for spice levels over 30.
