I've been cooking with ChatGPTI find that the recipes are pretty solid and great bases to work from that are more than capable of standing on their own. It's even fun to come up with your own ideas for an ingredient and work with the AI to incorporate it into the recipeOn top of that, the AI learns what you like and don't like and will actually give you suggestions based on your personalized palate. It's pretty incredible

Something as simple as adding an ingredient that doesn't belong in what it's spitting out because a mutually exclusive version of the recipe uses it sometimes, for example. I've seen cake recipes use way too many acidic ingredients and totally fuck up the balance because every one of those ingredients are in a litany of actual recipes by themselves. Just because recipes use lemon juice, buttermilk, yogurt, or vinegar doesn't mean you should use more than one. That's the sort of thing that has you end up with a dogshit result because the LLM you're trying to justify your subscription to aggregated a bunch of recipes together and spat out an untested amalgamation of them all.
LLMs really do suck for this. Their MO is to just hybridize other recipes they know. In practice this means they will tell to use the maximum number of ingredients and thats just bad cooking. However they are still better than the SEO hell that comes up when you google recipes.

Using AI for cooking is just like using AI for every other application: if you have absolutely no idea what you're doing then it can help you be less retarded (usually). But once you actually know what you're doing you realize that its indiscriminately feeding you misinformation, at least in my line of work. I don't see how it's any different with cooking. I guess if you're complete garbage at cooking it can give you a serviceable recipe. But unlike most anons, if you're actually competent then you should be able to make something better than what it recommends. But aside from that, I actually enjoy coming up with recipes. Why the fuck would I ever outsource the best part when that's what makes cooking fun and interesting? Using AI to do creative tasks for you is basically screaming to the world that you're a brainlet.
