Your Svenskjävlar are looking a bit sad. Did they change the recipe to one with less salmiak?
>>22127316
Ones actually containing liquorice at the very least.

>Did they change the recipe to one with less salmiak?

I dunno this is my first one. I just assumed the photo was misleading. There's some loose salmiak in the bottom of the jar so some fell off but even so they would never look like that product photo.
>>
>>22127321
Mine definitely looked like the photo last time I had them. There was still a lot at the bottom
>>
>>22127335
Damn, bad batch maybe. Well they're tasty anyway so I'm not mad.
>>
>>
>>22127310
I love licorice but salty licorice is just fucking gross
>>
>>22127310
Loved it until I found out it can slowly but surely cause your heart to develop irregular heartbeats. I don’t touch the stuff now
>>
>>22127475
I don't mind irregular for variety. Kids worry about the stupidest superficial stuff like teenie tiny bits of inert plastic in food, tiny non stick coatings and other dumb shit.

I do.

Why does scandi licorice come in jars like the ones you get from the marijuana dispensery?
>>
>>22127481
The saltiness reminds me of Aki's skin
>>

The last confirmed licorice enjoyer passed away in 1998. There have been a handful of reported sightings in the Midwest since then but nothing substantial. Bot thread

aah
that explains why people get spooked when i talk
also the transparency

I tried that ammonia-flavored licorice last year for the first time. At first it didn't feel right but I'll be damned if the flavor hadn't grown on me by the time I finished the bag.
I don't think I'll ever spend money on it again but it did make me curious about how hákarl might be.
>>
>>22127310
This looks like hamster tablets
>>
>>22127310
the intense ones I've had that come in a pot baggy are absolutely disgusting
but they grow on you and you kind of want more
like absolutely disgusting cheese puffs

the ones that come in a bag with any color on it don't really have a lot of salmiac flavor, kind of boring
>>
>>22127682
you eat a couple fairy tale critters and all of a sudden people think you’re a cryptid
>>
Yes, but scandy stuff is always adulterated. It tastes nice enough but pure licorice is unheard of up there. Is pure licorice only eaten in Italy? I've never seen it abroad, just stuff with added gums, starches, sugars or salts. Even our flavoured licorice is more pure than any sold abroad. Our mint licorice is 99% pure licorice extract, 1% mint extract. No added sugar. No gums. Just extract condensed into a solid.

Google says
"Yes, Italy is the only country where 100% pure, unsweetened licorice juice is boiled down, solidified into tiny black chips, and packaged into beautiful, tiny tin boxes sold at ordinary tobacco shops (tabacchi) and supermarkets as an everyday mouth freshener.Because the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant grows natively and abundantly in the rich soils of Calabria, Italians grew accustomed to its natural, intense bittersweet profile without needing to hide it behind binders, sugars, or gelatin."
So yeah. Nobody else eats pure licorice as a candy. It did say that China uses liquid extract as medicine, though not as a candy.

I was given some from india and it came with beetles :/ I'll stick to fennel or star anise thank you.
>>
>>22128168
google lied to you
one of my favourite types are picrel, the only ingredients are liquorice extract and a stabilizer (E471)

most estrogenic substance on earth
>>
>>22128196
No, that’s the Impossible Whopper.
Licorice is good for stomachaches
>>
>>22128191
Neat. Looking it up, they started that ten years ago after trying Italian stuff. Is it any good? And why does it have an E number if it's an American product?
>>
>>22128210
very sweet but also bitter with a hint of saltiness
i dont know much about the company itself, but the tins that i have were made in the EU
they also have salmiak flavored ones, but i find they're not as good as cheaper salmiak liquorice brands
