Can anyone tell me why my cupcakes look like volcanoes, and how to prevent this in the future? Please and thank you

Maybe you should first learn how to hold a camera before attempting more complex tasks like baking?
>>
>>22128007
You probably shouldn't shit in the cupcake batter.
>>
>>22128007
no idea but id try less heat, more time, more baking powder, less egg

Recipe? It might be too much baking powder/soda.

Well what would you prefer to happen? Don't use the word "not"
>Not explode in the middle like a volcano == Rise evenly
What's causing the middle to rise?
>leavener
So what? Should you remove all the leavener? Table this dumb idea.
What's stopping the top from rising equally?
>...
(look at the pic)
>The black part
(important) What is the difference between the black part and the middle part?
>The outside is batter on the top that is cooked, and the middle is batter from the inside that is cooked
Describe the evolution of the cupcake as it cooks in the oven
>Wet batter is heated from the outside in. Wet batter rises when heated. When fully cooked, it solidifies
Describe the evolution of these particular cupcakes
>Same, but the top batter cooked solid, then wet inside exploded from the top as it expands from the center
So what is your equivalent issue and the solution?
>The outside cooks too much faster than the center == Oven is too hot => Make less hot
Anything else? Un-table other lines of thought
>Maybe adjust leavener
Which is easier? Which order to test?
>Oven first, recipe after

Agree knowing the recipe would help a lot. Also what’s the rack position in the oven?
