What are your rules for that?

Here we have a burger with a 1/4 lb. patty, thin-sliced roast beef, American cheese, and grilled onions, all dipped in a pork-and-beef au jus. It was excellent.
>>
>>22129167
I’ve heard that in Utah they put pastrami on their burgers but I’ve never tried it.
>>
>>22129167
Typical American overkill.
>>
>>22129167
It can be okay if it comes in a different form and there is a clear primary meat. A burger with some bacon strips, for example.
>>
>>22129167
Some bacon is nice, I also prefer mixed pork-beef over pure beef. I find pure beef a bit too dry.
>>
maybe just a slice or two of bacon
>>
>>22129185
>>22129186
>>22129188
You are only saying bacon because it's convention NOT because it adds anything to the star of the show which should be the burger.

Sheep.
>>
>>22129191
You must be using some terrible bacon.
>>
>>22129191
A burger is just a sandwich, the total package counts not 1 ingredient
>>
>>22129193
You're missing my point entirely.
>>
>>22129191
It adds a porky saltiness, crispiness, and smokiness. These are all nice on a burger. You only hate bacon because other people like it, which is absolute sheep-tier.
>>
>>22129197
I don't hate bacan, I love it but again you are missing the point.
>>
>>22129195
don't think he is
>>
>>22129198
You mean your point here?
>you only said it because it's a convention NOT because it adds anything
The issue is that your point is shitty and wrong and relied on the assumption that I couldn't give reasons why bacon if good on burgers. I gave you three reasons why it does add things to the burger and you haven't told me yet why something salty crispy and smoky doesn't add something to a burger.
>>
>>22129202
My point is:
The Burger should be the start of the show and the flavour should come from the burger NOT things that accompany it.

Something like a bit of crispy lettuce is fine, I am not American but I admit your 'cheese' works well with it (probably because that's flavourless also) and maybe a few onions but just look at OPs pic . . . .those onions are sweated right down, they need to be more crisp to attenuate the meat in the burger, so just a flash fry on a hot heat.

If you need bacon on your burger, then you have a taste problem with your burger, you just as well add 101 sauces and a bottle of Lowrys.

No, your point when you replied to everyone was that people were saying bacon because it's a convention and not because it adds something to the burger. Then I explained why it does.
You have yet to explain why something that is salty, smoky, and crispy doesn't add to a burger, but it sounds like you're changing your point in real time.
>the flavor should come from the burger not anything else
Oh okay, so now your point is that bacon DOES add something to the burger in terms of flavor and now it's bad to add anything flavorful to the burger? Alright then.
>>
>>22129216
I haven't moved any goalposts.
>, so now your point is that bacon DOES add something to the burger
I NEVER said anything of the sort . . . .what I am saying is you add something to hide and detract the flavour of the burger see >>22129213
>If you need bacon on your burger, then you have a taste problem with your burger, you just as well add 101 sauces and a bottle of Lowrys.

Not sure if you are baiting/trolling or just a bit dim?
>>
>>22129219
was this not your post here >>22129191 ?
Where you said anyone who disagreed with that post was missing your point there? Where that point was that people say bacon because it's a convention and NOT because it adds anything?

Because now you're saying that your point is something entirely different from that post. You went from
>You are only saying bacon because it's convention NOT because it adds anything to the star of the show which should be the burger.
to
>The Burger should be the start of the show and the flavour should come from the burger NOT things that accompany it.
Can you see how these are not the same point and argue for different things?
>>
>>22129224
I think you have just answered my question here >>22129219
>.....or just a bit dim?
Get an adult to read your post back to you.
>>
>>22129230
I'm asking you which of those is your point because it's hard to argue with someone who keeps switching their position. The first one that you said people were missing, or the second one that you're now newly adopting after multiple people called you out? They're both retarded for what it's worth, neither will dig you out of being wrong, I just want to know which flavor of retarded you want to settle on. It was the first point you said initially and said people were missing in case you forgot.
But it seems quite clear you're through actually arguing because you've realized you're wrong, so you're going to do your best to obfuscate from here on out.
>>
>>22129213
The meat is also the star of a bolognese, does that mean the carrots, celery, pasata, onion, garlic and red wine are there for show? Is the pepper or mushroom sauce you put on a steak just redundant? The ketchup and mustard on your hotdogs? The mayonaise on your fries?

Might as well just eat a burger without bread then.
>>
>>22129167
>au jus
Retard.
>>
>>22129297
Takes one to know one!
>>
>>22129167
Most meat just tastes good. I think in this case it's more of a texture thing. If your patty is soft and juicy, you might want something that's thin and crispy like bacon or carnitas or fried meatń cheese. If you have a smashed, fried patty than maybe something softer would still work like pulled pork, grilled pastrami or roast beef.
>>
>>22129179
OP is clearly not American
>>
>>22129401
His misuse use of the term au jus suggests he is.
>>
>>22129404
"Au jus" means something different now than it did decades ago. You think Arby's "au jus" is actually that and not made from a powder?
>>
>>22129421
It isn't made from powder though, and even if it was it would still be au jus.
>>
>>22129167
>two loads of meat in one set of buns
I make a burger I call the "DAP", which stands for "Double Angus Patty". It's better with thick cuts of meat, usually going for two (2x) third-pounders. Originally learned this recipe from an instruction video from Czech Republic.
>>
>>22129424
>even if it was it would still be au jus.
Incorrect.
>>
>>22129424
It’s just ‘jus’ mate; au jus describes the manner in which the food is served (with juice).
>>
>>22129297
Aw Jews!
>>
>>22129177
I would love to try this. Im legitimately surprised somewhere like New York or New Jersey didnt come up with that first. Sounds like it would be excellent
>>
>>22129470
>legitimately
*genuinely
>>
>>22129473
Legitimately works just fine there and has different connotations from genuinely. You can use more than one word to describe something.

You mean 'jus', not fucking 'au jus'. It means WITH JUICE.
So "dipped in a pork and beef with juice" just looks fucking idiotic.
Not sure why you used hyphens on pork and beef either.

Learn the fucking languages here.
And fuck you.

If you're not a fluent English speaker then I could understand you not hearing people use "legitimately" or "legit" in conversational English the way anon did there. If you emigrate one day(I hope you don't) then you will begin to pick up on things that aren't in your English textbooks or online courses.

It was an informal footnote containing a correction regarding a previously made typo, actually. Keep trying.
>>
Keep it simple: make separate burgers using different meats, You won't even be able to taste them if you stack them into the same sandwich.
>>
>>22129191
I'd love to see you post on a Reese's thread.

>You're only saying the chocolate is okay because you like chocolate!
>It's called a PEANUT BUTTER cup!

Dude... Things taste good together. Peanut butter and chocolate, also a burger with bacon on it. Are you dense?

its just too much at this point

Mental gymnastics.
>>

>dipped in a pork-and-beef au jus
holy kino
>>
>>22130527
Mental gymnastics is coping your way into thinking that if something is the main component then absolutely nothing else should also bring flavor, even if it goes well with it, to justify an autistic dislike of flavor combos.

I once had a burger called the Carcass burger that had a beef patty, chicken patty, bacon, doner lamb, and a piece of battered fried fish. The fish was a bit overkill, but the rest combined well.
>>

>pork-and-beef au jus
that means pork and beef with jus you silly mutt. burger looks and sounds good i will say though.

>>22129473
Either or, really. Why are you being pedantic about the language i use? Why does it matter? This is a thread about burgers. Go to a college English course if youre worried about "correcting" language
>>
There are no rules. There are no limits. Go have some no limits fun!
>>
>>22130859
Was there any sauces or vegetables on it? Sounds good, but definitely would be the only meal i ate that day if i had one
>>

>>
>>22129167
>rules
No special rules except it's gotta fit in my mouth at the end. Lots of places manage to fail at that.
Probably shouldn't mix too many different ones at once, as then you just get an undifferentiated much. Better to appreciate each type for its own nature.
>>
>>22129167
It does look good, but it's just too - complicated, for regular eating. I do a good meatloaf mix that has all the flavor I need, without all the extra steps.
