>click on website for baking recipe>see it uses volume instead of weight for ingredients>immediately close itWhy do people still do this?
>>22132944volume is objectively better, if you measure things by weight you're more likely to have poor results since different ingredients weigh different amountswater weighs more than sugar for example so it's better to measure with volume
>>22132944Because they are not retarded.Volume instead of weight is nigger behaviour and should be avoided, like them.
>>22132947>different ingredients weigh different amountsbro really thought he was sayin something with this
Is it just me or is nobody making sense ITT
>>22132944it's pretty easy to convert if it's a recipe you really want but i do think kitchen scales should be more common and more people should be using weight measurements>>22132947lol
>>22132951OP makes sense. The first two replies don't make sense. I think the first post is just trolling but the second post misunderstood OP.
Its super convenient if a recipe has grams listed, and a portion calculator. Then you just select the amount you make, measure grams using a gram measuring device with zero room for errors and move on with ur life.idk what the recipe sites that dont do that think they're doing. Dont they want to appease their visitors for admoney or some such
>half a cupped tbspl of malk>3/7ths of an ounce of kosher flour >Pour sugar for 6 secondsWhat do you mean you don't like American recipes?
>>22132944because unless you are a professional baker or cook looking for EXACT repeatable results it does not matter.
>>22132947dude... sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut so people don't know how dumb you are.
>>22132976
>>22132978Weighing things can just be more convenient. Weighing flour is faster than the scoop and scrape you're supposed to do. Weighing oil directly into a mixing bowl is faster than using a measuring cup and then having to scrape it out. And it's definitely easier if you're having to measure things like peanut butter.
this would be the perfect time for me to post that screecap of the guy who confused 2.5 with 2 halfs, but I don't have it
>>22132947I'm crying
>>22132944Intuitive mastery skill and experiential wisdom vs sensory disconnection and over-reliance on numbers>a baker who cannot function without a scale is practicing data entry rather than the craft itself.
>>22132947smartest american
>>22132944Close the recipe? Because they're stupid faggots who can't handle conversion. Why do you still do that? It's a perfectly good recipe.
>>22133176If it uses volume its probably not a good recipe because the recipe is made around what size scoop they have rather than what would actually taste best.
Because those "baking websites" are run by inluencer cooklets and not actual professionals.
>>22133000this is exactly the opposite of reality. because I bake both ways. weighing is NEVER faster.
