There are *multiple* Star Wars cookbooks
I don't even recall anyone eating in any of those films
Maybe Jabba? What did he eat. Small reptiles? No cooking

They don't cook food in Star Trek though, they have replicators for that

I still haven't made Sisko's allegedly amazing sautéed beets.
What could he have done to them to make them enjoyable to someone who hates beets.
I think about that scene several times each year.

I was hiding the fact that it's from a Babylon 5 cookbook.

Replicator food lacks nuance. It's similar to the difference between food made with dried spices that have been in a cupboard for years and those made with fresh herbs from the garden.
>>
>>22133101
5 was so much better than DS9. Everyone agrees

Replicators make a consistent, technically correct version of food/drinks based on Federation standards. But it's not good, that requires human ingenuity and talent
>>
>>22133109
True but I like them both and never understood the need for one of them to be seen as bad.
>>
>>22133112
Tastes like replicated protein molecules and textured carbohydrates.
i.e. it's simplified to be less of a power draw on the constantly exploding eps conduits

I loved DS9 until I started watching Babylon 5 and realised how much more I love it. I don't think DS9 is bad, but it does just feel stiff and a bit shallow by comparison

Isn't there a /tv/ webm where one of the captains cooks eggs for someone?

That's it. /tv/ posts it a lot. I think the idea is Why is he cooking eggs for the robot man?
>>
>>22133276
That's commander Riker you dummy.
>>
>>22133508
No the robot man is being served the eggs. The captain cooked them for it to show the robot how superior human beings are to artificial life.
>>
>>22133524
You're right. Turtle head man was the only one that liked them. I forgot that part.

As for Data being a robot, he mentions in another episode that he can eat food though he doesn't need to. He probably has the ability to detect different flavors with far high sensitivity than any human or Klingon.
