So I bought a frozen crab like this one at the asian market, it is slightly smaller than this one and it's from Ghana. It cost 8 dollars. I have never had a whole crab before, just surimi and arancini of questionable crab content.report on the fisheries in questionhttps://www.fisheriesjournal.com/archives/2018/vol6issue2/PartC/6-1-67-557.pdfso it is probably Callinectes amnicola, not Callinectes sapidusthe pictured crab is from here, by way of agence france presshttps://www.modernghana.com/news/1256350/invasive-species-a-growing-and-costly-threat.htmlSo how do I cook this for maximum crabness?
>>22134130blue crab suck. you got ripped off. just stick to snowcrab legs, theyve got the sustainability figured out
>>22134132those are ridiculously expensivebesides, i already have this crab in the freezer so i can either eat or use it for a prank
>>22134130Real blue crabs only come from Maryland and we sure as shit don't freeze them. Just throw out whatever that is and try again. Been in the seafood business 20 years, I know.
>>22134130that's a lot of data for one stupid blue crab. just cook it and eat it, stupid, it's not a mushroom.
>>22134142>>22134146you two should suck each others dicks, im eating this crab
>>22134142thats not true. blue crabs are everywhere. theyre just popular in maryland because nothing else can survive in that shitbay and they turned it into their whole identity because they have nothing else going for them
>>22134149Then steam it, don't boil with a bunch of shit thinking it'll penetrate the shell. After it's done you season with JO or Old Bay, the seasoning gets on your fingers then onto the meat when you pick it out
>>22134149go ahead. just dont waste your money on it again. boil it with a bunch of old bay, then spend half an hour picking it apart. serving size is 5-6 crabs, by the way
