Asians are meant to be so clever but they can't use a saucepan to cook rice. What's that about?
>>
>>22143456
My burners are occupied with other things.
>>

Is this some mantra that you need to constantly repeat to yourself? Maybe learn something about nutrition, as carbs aren't toxic.
If rice cookers/rice was bad for you the Japanese would all be fat, but guess what, they aren't.

Real talk time anon:
When you use a sauce pan to make rice, you are just going to flat out cook the shit improperly because its easier that way. You boil the water, usually with the rice in it, and then off the heat to steam. Done in 20 min. But the rice is inferior. It's not perfect. It's just cooked.

A rice cooker - a proper one - spends almost a full hour to cook the rice. Because it bothers to do all the important steps like letting the rice absorb water before warming it to the boil. It does all the fancy steps for a fancy rice output. End result? Perfect rice, every time. And it knows how to do perfect rice cooks for the various rice types. Plus it keeps the rice warm for you after it's done. Nice and steamy for when your main dish is complete, OR some one wants seconds later.

A rice cooker doesn't make sense for someone who rarely enjoys rice. Just buy the microwave pouches - same shit, just more expensive, and it nets you a perfect 1 or 2 servings. Done in 1:30, faster than the stove and perfect rice too. It just costs extra.

Rice is a starch, so like potatoes and wheat, it's a common commodity that is filling and provides long lasting energy.

And rice is versatile like wheat and potatoes. You can make it as is, use it as a side, or turn it into flour and make buns. It also works for porridge. Rice can also be used as a thickening agent, it was used like that in bisques historically.

Also, because rice buns are a thing, your argument is invalid. Rice can indeed hold your food, in bun form.

Also, if you want portable food w/ rice, onigiri is a thing.

Asians are way thinner than their westoid counterparts who are obese.

>yt who eats rice once a week can’t fathom why you would get a rice cooker for something you eat 2-3 times a day and is a default part of every single meal without exception

Fun fact: China used to consume more wheat than rice up until the 1500s when it was introduced to them from Korea.

Why would you buy a toaster when you could just toast your bread in a pan?

Only cooklets use a rice cooker to make rice

Also I have learned that I can dump [frozen] chicken breasts or salmon filets in with the rice and a bunch of seasoning and out comes perfectly tender meat and even more flavorful rice. All with the touch of a button.

No, that was good racism. I should know, I'm a racist expert.

I have to turn it off manually. At the right time too.

>>22148550
Doesn't seem that way, no. Not everything needs to be browned.
>>
>>22149000
>I have to turn it off manually. At the right time too.
I cook on the stove. It has a kitchen timer.
I turn it off when it beeps, and I don't mind getting up because when it beeps is also when I eat, that's why I started making it.
