Are seed oils as bad as people say?
>>
>>22144881
I like to put seed oils on my bread. Feelsgoodman.
>>
>>22144881
If I wanted a truthful answer to that question, based on the most recent medical and scientific knowledge available, the food-and-cooking board of 4chan is definitely where I'd go to get it.
>>
>>22144881
I get inflammation from them (and any other fat/oil that's heated/processed at high temp)
>>
>>22144881
Actually even worse than they say. Run!
>>
>>22144901
unsaturated fat is poison and responsible for all metabolic illness and cancer. humans should ideally consume no pufas and that includes fish oils as well. there are zero advantages except sacrificing your health for frugality
>>
>>22144905
literally all false and does the exact opposite for every one of those points
>>
>>22144901
>neutral tasting
Why do you lie?
>>
>is this thing we invented in a lab first used for greasing gears in the industrial revolution then used to be put in food, safe??

Hmmm I dont think so
>>
>>22145420
>made in a lab
you can make it at home by heating the seeds and crushing them
its not much different to any other food oil in that regard
there are industrial and food grade types
>>
Canola oil is my go to for seasoning pans. Peanut oil if I want to kill someone with a peanut allergy.
>>
The bad rep grapeseed oil gets is from eating shit that's deep fried with it. In modest dosage used for stir frying does nothing bad.
>>
>>22144893
i can't run everything is coated in oil!
>>
>>22145438
What about the solvents, bleaches, and detergents used in industrial canola extraction?
>>
>>22144881
I thought canola was manmade
>>
>>22145503
they make my insides clean and smell nice
>>
>>22145500
pufas in any dosage is bad. food fried in saturated fat is good
>>
>>22145503
>solvents
the most common one used is hexane, which has a boiling point of ~70C, where the oil itself has a smoking point above 200C
so reclaiming hexane after dissolving and filtering isnt too much of a worry
>bleaches and detergents
..? i think maybe somebody has tricked you
>>
>>22145507
okay ray
>>
>>22144886
I dip my bread in seed oils, hfcs, aspartame, and artificial colors. That's how I meal prep.
>>
>>22144881
They're worse. Try rubbing some olive oil on your skin, or butter, or tallow. Soaks right in, leaves your skin smooth and moisturized. Rub some seed oil on there and you'll break out in a rash.

Now imagine how dumb you'd have to be to ingest this poison.
>>
>>22145640
Olive oil on my skin gave me pimples.
>>
>>22145645
Probably just a coincidence.
>>
>>22145646
It wasn't.

People who start eating more tallow also complain of diarrhea.
>>
>>22145663
That sounds more like massive overindulgance.

Seed oils are bad for you, but they're also trashy. They're for lower class goyim and other such slaves.
>>
>>22145667
>Seed oils are bad for you
Probably, but I think that's just because they're processed and less nutritious than whole foods. People have been eating fatty nuts and seeds for a long time. I drink a lot of milk but I think eating a lot of butter isn't as good for you too.

This pic is a bit old but it shows that the average American was getting almost 700 calories per day just from added fat, and then another 475 calories from added sugar. I think there will be weight problems and health issues whether it's from seed oil and corn syrup or olive oil and cane sugar because that's a ton of calories from refined foods.

Shit is processed by the intestines and a bunch of buttholes but you still love to slurp it down
>>
>>22145672
I agree.
>>
>>22145672
That's the nuance. Cold pressed seed oils can be healthy to medicinal in some cases and not eaten in excess.
Black cumin seed oil is absolutely medicinal for example.
>>
>>22145775
Black cumin seed oils stole my bike, though.
>>
>>22145778
But the total happiness of the world increased, so, whatever.
>>
>>22145778
What if they needed that bike to get to work to feed they childrens
>>
>>22145785
>happiness
I'm not convinced black cumin seed oils feel emotions like non-seed oils do.

The average Chinese person uses a gallon of seed oils a week for deep frying and smokes 50 cigs a day and lives until about 92.

>>
>>22145864
Yeah this is the one that really gets me.

If it's so bad, why does the chinaman live so long? I think its moreso all the foods that are super high in seed oils in the USA are absolute shit-tier in terms on nutrition to begin with.
>>
>>22146042
So it's the usual case of US food being rubbish innit?
>>
>>22145864
>The average Chinese person uses a gallon of seed oils a week
source?
>and smokes 50 cigs a day
source?
>and lives until about 92.
source?

(I'm not really asking for source by the way, I'm saying those are unfalsifiable, unverifiable claims)

Seed oil apologists lie, it's what they do.
>>
>rape oil

What am I supposed to use that for?
>>
>>22145510
>i think maybe somebody has tricked you
No, that's what they do to canola/rapeseed oil. Besides solvents, they use a bunch of other chemicals to neutralize the taste and scent because it's actually fucking rancid otherwise.
It's literally an industrial lubricant that they're making *mostly* edible.

>>22147804
I have no clue why anyone would be a trans fats apologist, unless you had corporate connections.
>>
>>22144881
Seed oils are good, refined seed oils are bad.
Simple as that.

Seed oils don't inherently have trans fat. Partially hydrogenated oil did and that shit was so terrible for you.

I don't really know how much of a problem omega 6 is. People who have healthy diets but still get more omega 6 than some people say you should don't seem to experience issues. It might have identifiable symptoms but it seems to apply more in people who have overall poor diets with a lot of junk food rather than people eating nuts or peanut butter despite them having omega 6. Everything that we refine and then overeat seems to cause some kind of problem.
>>
>>22145864
Japs consume shitloads of canola and have the lowest rate of heart disease on earth
>>
>>22144881
I'm actually not seedoilphobic but I probably should be, because when I eat something fried in it, I feel mild physical discomfort

I don't take health advice from schizo miggers so..

I read in a book a long time ago about South American people chewing on cocoa leaves. They'd get a buzz but could go to sleep at the end of the day. Compare that do taking the leaves and making them into cocaine.

>>22148861
Thankfully I don't eat powdered rat food, so CICO works just fine for me.

Why tf would you use a consumable oil instead of baby oil?
It works like a charm, Kelly Ripa was right.
Just rub some on while still in the shower before you dry off. Never been softer.
If you have bumpy/flaky skin, exfoliate as part of your shower routine.
Idk shit about caring for face pimples though, that’s usually hormonal
>>
>>22145337
> frugality
What? Fish oil pills are expensive as fuck. They’re for lazy people who don’t want to eat fish
Like weirdos who take garlic and turmeric pills. Just eat it normal style??
>>
>>22148861
Yeah it's true for most drugs that obviously concentrating them can lead to greater harm from abuse. You can still overdo it even without the processing but it's more likely to lead to you feeling sick and cutting back rather than doing permanent damage or dying.

I don't think your pic is accurate though. I tried looking up the study and I think I found it, but it doesn't control for overall amount of calories consumed, so the study could've been saying that powdered food lead to overeating which causes issues. It doesn't say they were given an equal amount of calories overall, just that the food had the same amount of calories.

"Removing calories doesn't cure obesity" and making it about hormones is nonsense. There are hormonal issues involved in obesity, but losing weight will fix it and you will lose weight if you eat less. There can be other things influencing overeating but anyone who tells you that eating less will not make you lose weight is being dishonest to themselves or to others for whatever reason.

>>22148872
If you eat bread then it's made with grains turned into powder and that does speed up digestion and how it affects your blood sugar. Eating refined fat does the same thing compared to eating whole food with fat in it. It's still true that a lot of food processing is more likely to lead to overeating and health problems.
>>
>>22146042
>different races, made up of different genetics, have a worse diet but they live longer wtf?!
Well maybe it's not only diet that's the cause.
You should compare diet of your own people for proper comparison.

>>22147812
It's rapeSEED oil. You're supposed to use it to rape and make seeds.
>>
>>22144881
Depends on the people and what they're saying?
Also depends heavily on the oil, how you're consuming it, and how it's treated [?]

Omega 6's can morph and metabolise to Arachidonic acid (itself an polyunsaturated omega 6 fatty acid), which by itself can be a vasodilator, and can/does - in small amounts - metabolize into a few prostaglandins, which can trigger an inflammation and even full blown yet minor immune/allergy response.

They're often extracted with solvents like hexane, which tend to be neurotoxic, and cleaned up with some detergents with aren't always great. In the first world, you shouldn't find these in the end product past a parts-per-trillion margin, but you never know.

Cold pressed, fresh nut oils in small doses are probably more helpful than harmful. Industrial canola might be as harmful as the highish erucic acid rapeseed oil it replaced, but if sanely and sanitarily extracted and stored, it's not terrible in small doses. It might actually undo some of the damages saturated fats can cause.

All things in moderation. If you're drinking the shit, it might kill you faster than some of the other dumb shit you're doing.

Yet this isn't really seen in people getting omega 6 in healthy diets made up of mainly whole foods. It's more like we've identified some exact mechanisms of what happens when you have a bad diet full of junk food including high intake of refined oil, but even if you replaced all fats with low omega 6 versions you'd still have problems if your diet is mostly processed food and you're overeating.
