Thanksgiving looms.
>>

Good. Wait for it instead of trying to crowbar it into summer dumbass.
>>
I fucking hate the Holidays
>>
I wish my grandmother was still alive because she made some delicious pork stuffing recipe that was basically pure fat. I guess that explains the heart problems in the family.
>>
>>22146617
All of them suck ass, save for maybe April Fool's.
>>
>>22146617
Sounds like I should remind you to just kys to alleviate the mental strain on you and your poor parents.
>>
>>22146624
What a mean thing to say to a stranger.
>>
>>22146627
>strange
that fucker sure is, and you know it's true
>>
>>22146620
Yeah, the old bird really liked stuffing and getting porked. The turkey was less enthused.
>>
>>22146620
Cisco isn't fat.
>>
Last Thanksgiving my turkey turned out a little overcooked and dry but I absolutely nailed the gravy so it was a draw imo
>>
What are some alternatives to turkey?
I just want to do something different.
>>
>>22146667
Nobody is crazy about turkey that’s why it’s only done once a year, but that’s the tradition. Suck it up buttercup
>>
>>22146674
I cook for myself, and really only like the dark meat.
>>
>>22146677
>only like the dark meat
I bet you do, I bet you do
>>
>>22146617
why?
the food is good.
i cook for like 10 people.
>>
>>22146613

It's my parents' house. What exactly am I going to do here?
>>
>>22146707
Try moving out.
>>
>>22146674
I don't understand the dislike for turkey, I buy deli meat turkey twice a month.

You don't go back to your parents' house for Thanksgiving?
>>
>>22146613

>>
>>22146613
Cant wait for the thanksgiving sandwiches to come in at sheetz
>>
>>22146613
Hold your dick, it's not even Halloween yet.
>>

Imagine reaching for something and accidentally dispensing face cream onto your food.
>>
>>22146667
Ditch the turkey and use a chicken, turkey is trash even if it's cooked right.
>>
Every year after Thanksgiving and Christmas, turkeys and turkey breasts go on sale. I buy 2-3 and have a couple Thanksgiving meals throughout the year. I just love the meal
>>
>>22149079
Same. They go for as little as 19¢/lb in my area (though I've not seen quite that cheap in years; last cheap turkey I nabbed was 23¢/lb, iirc, which ain't nothing to sneeze at).
Easily the cheapest protein source in the US.

Ditch both and use duck
>>
>>22146734
Deli meat turkey is barely turkey, it's a horrible amalgamation of meat pulp pressed into a uniform shape and then boiled until fully cooked. It's like calling a hot dog "long pork chops."
>>
>>22146667
ham

Bro its still two months away.

Anyway as a bachelor with no senpai in town I am probably just gonna hit up the murrican buffet to not have to cook a ton for myself. It was like $33 bucks with a soda and tip last year not too bad

my granny would always grab a take and bake box from Vons, I miss it. In the last few years of my grandpas life when parkinsons got real bad I started putting a tall boy in a glass to make the dinner more bearable
>>
>>22149079
I do this, but make it fakesgiving. I might grill the bird in pieces, or cut it up and bread it. I'll do sweet potato fries, cranberry Jell-O, corn on the cob... I try to change the traditional dish to a more summer preparation.
>>
>>22149086
You don't know what a duck looks like. That's a goose.
>>
>>22146667
Pheasant. Really, really good. I love turkey and if you dont, deep fry your turkey. Never met anyone who hated deep fried turkey.

I googled “mean duck” and that came up lol
>>
>>22146667
Cornish hens are fun if you have a small group. Anything larger than 4 becomes cumbersome though
>>
>>22146613
Thanksgiving dinner in the US is a lot like Christmas dinner in Scandinavia, bland and tasteless, and many items resemble more baby food than real food.
>>
I can't wait. I love the holiday atmosphere and the food so much it's my favorite time of year. I love you guys
>>
>>22146613
No it doesn't.
>>
>>22149309
Baste, same
