I don't have anywhere put a dishwasher. I'd have to sacrifice a lower cupboard and I already don't have room to store all of my shit.

So I own my home and I have the money but I just can't get one. Which annoys me greatly.

Why not install a normal fucking handle instead of that heavy automated shit that takes 30 sec to open and fucking close letting all the fucking cold air escape?

Based
Exactly, I already want to rage that my induction stove takes more seconds to press and hold their stupid buttons compared to a knob.
Can’t imagine wanting to grab something from the fridge quickly and just standing there for that long.
Coulda had the butter in hand already!
>>
>>22152234
>Can’t imagine
No offence an' all, but, you're fucked in the head, right?
>>
>>22152108
do you live in a shack?
>>
>>22152683
no it's a 2 story house plus basement and attic the kitchen is just small
>>
Dishwashing liquid residue is a killer of millions
>>
>>22152695
can't you renovate to make it bigger?
>>
>>22152108
>but I just can't get one.
Sure you can. You'd just have to sacrifice a lower cupboard. I was strapped for space as well and had to lose precious space for a small dishwasher but it's 100% worth it because it enables me to spend more time cooking and doing my other hobbies. You just decided you don't want one because of the tradeoffs.
>>
>>22152719
why did you decide to settle for a small kitchen?
>>
>>22152721
It wasn't settling, we wanted a small house because we didn't need anything bigger, the kitchen still works well for the two of us and any guests we have over. I have a great many kitchen things that no reasonable person could ever need and just store them on a shelving unit in the breakfast nook. Things like my pressure cooker, steamer, meat grinder, deep fryer, etc. Still enough room to install a dishwasher and I'm glad I did.
If I hosted larger things like thanksgiving extended family feasts for 20+ people then it would get cumbersome but that's not the case.
>>
>>22152727
>we didn't need anything bigger
>I was strapped for space as well and had to lose precious space for a small dishwasher
what matters is that you're happy. i know wouldn't.
>>
>>22152231
"Letting all the cold air escape" is a myth. Air can't store cold because air is empty. The cold of the fridge is stored in solids like refrigerated rice.
>>
>>22152064
Hmm do all firsties own a dishwasher?
I live in aSEAn country and we pay a lady 15$/month to come to our house to wash dishes
Do dishwashers work well? I remember hearing from a relative the they clean well only if you immediately wash your dishes to prevent any gravy etc drying on them. Seems pretty useless to me desu
>>
>>22153337
They clean fine and modern ones usually work just as well or better with a bit of food residue left on the plates (i.e. just rinse them off and avoid leaving any huge chunks)
If the heat and detergent is somehow incapable of removing gravy from dishes then they either aren't using any detergent or they got scammed
>>
>>22152719
lol how fucking long do you think washing dishes by hand takes?
>>
>>22153366
i handwashed for years when i was avoiding repairing the dishwasher and when i got it back it was a huge relief. i didnt even dislike manual dishwashing and i considered myself to be a quick washer. but you really dont understand how much of a relief it is and how much time you save until you have one.
>>
Idk man I live alone so cleaning by hand is no big deal and honestly I kinda find it therapeutic which isn't completely without precedent as there are many examples of repetitive manual deliberations facilitating a state of meditative consciousness.
>>
>>22152064
I hate dishwashers. They smell funny. I can wash my dishes fine by hand. I even kind of enjoy it.
>>
>>22153408
>I hate dishwashers. They smell funny.
because your mom is always cleaning her dildo collection in yours

>>22152231
Thats the price of being rich and classy when you invite your 'friends' over to show them how potentially richer and classier you are
>>
>>22153420
Ummmmm no, I think it's because of the nasty food residue and whatever weird shit they do to clean everything. I live in my own goycube by the way, which I pay for without mummy's assistance.
>>
>>22153408
>I even kind of enjoy it.
Same. I fucking hate washing casserole dishes though

Yes, they do. You should get your nose fixed.

If your dishwasher smells it’s likely not cleaning your dishes very well..
>>
>>22152714
I paid 70k for the house during covid when nobody was buying houses it's not really worth renovating
>>
>>22153337
I bought a literally who brand freestanding dishwasher for around $250 over 12 years ago which still works fine. I rinse most the stuff with running water before putting it in
>>
Dishwashers are only worth it once you have more than 2 people in the house.
>>
>>22153734
>buys thing that automatically rinses dishes, then does a second cycle where it cleans again
>better wash them first before putting them in
You're defeating the purpose of a dishwasher. If it needs you to rinse things first then it's not worth using.
>>
>>22153366
Longer than using a dishwasher, and I say that as someone who handwashed for years. Unlike you I value my time because I have other hobbies, and even if I didn't, the less time I need to spend cleaning dishes, the more time I can spend cooking.

>>22152757
Well yeah that's why we got the shelving unit for all of the specialty kitchen tech that is useful but occupies counter and cupboard space. Besides the pressure cooker, steamer, meat grinder, and deep fryer, it also holds my blender, my food processor, my stand mixer, my dehydrator, my large stock pot, and my big crock pot. One of the tiers has my herbs as well because it hits the sunlight from the windows in the nook.
With those things out of the kitchen itself and not taking up drawer or counter space, things are quite comfortable and I just carry what I need 20 feet over when I need it. Some people just have bad space management.
>i know wouldn't.
Did you stroke out?
>>
>keeps the kitchen clutter free with no compromise

Bro just put the appliances in the pantry and stop coping with your tiny kitchen lmao
>>
>>22153764
that pantry is bigger than my kitchen

interfering with "hobby time"

like i said, how long do you imagine washing dishes takes?
>>
>>22153779

Just put your kitchen in the pantry and the pantry in the kitchen then

It should be the other way around

>>
>>22153764
What I'm describing is literally what you pictured but against a wall in the breakfast nook. So if that's a pantry to you then yeah I do that. Having a stand mixer at ground level is fucking retarded by the way, don't do that.

>>22153782
>how long do you imagine washing dishes takes?
Who's imagining things? It takes more time than loading a dishwasher, that's a fact. For a more complicated dinner with 3+ prepared elements that aren't microwaved garbage, you're going to have a good few dishes and you will save time by having a dishwasher. Maybe your dinners are just heating up Stoufer's frozen meals and putting them on a plate but I do more when I cook.
>>
>>22152757

A pantry is a small room or large cupboard used to store food, drinks, dishes, and kitchen supplies. It helps keep the main kitchen clean and organized.

Let me know if you need help with anything else.
>>
>>22152064

>>
>>22154562
Dishwasher is still faster, no matter how much you cope for not being able to afford one. I see you don't deny that your meals are microwave dogshit slopped onto a plate either, so I'm sure cleanup for you is just a quick rinsing off of a plate and a fork with your own bitter tears. Shameful.
>>
>>22154589
not an issue in 1990
>>
>>22154596
>ad hominum
>projecting cope

>>
>>22154946
A dishwasher is far more efficient than washing by hand. It isn't quicker, but that hardly matters because you can do other things while it's operating.
>>
>>22154946
don't bother, frustration stemming from a miserably tiny kitchen is logical
>>
>>22154946
All you can do is repeat "durr you use a dishwasher for convenience so u can't do the hand wash" like a broken record so if you're going to act like a poor retard then my response will be to just call you a poor retard. Respond to my argument if you want me to do anything but insult you. I spend less time interacting with dirty dishes than you do because I use a dishwasher and for some reason that makes you mad because I'm not doing literal brainless monkey-tier work. Your time might be worthless to you, that's your choice. I drive a car too for my convenience, but you seem like the sort of dumbass to think that means I can't walk to places. You... have a vehicle at least, right?
